A not so polite notice

Hi guys, you may have noticed that I took word verification off a couple of months ago. However, don't be surprised if you see it back again, because I've been getting spam in my comments.

I do have this message for any blog polluting spammers out there...don't use my blog to deposit your spamming trash...butt out of my space and I won't visit yours.

Robyn,
Spamers suck bilge water. But there will always be bottom feeders to aggravate us. Some say they're necessary, but I can't figure out why.

Robyn, I’ve not had word verification on my blog for almost two years. I seldom get any spam. Actually, I find it easier to simply delete the little spam I do receive than put folks through the hell of trying to read to blasted letter. Of course, that may be because I have so much difficulty reading them and sometimes, after the third failure, I just click away from the blog without leaving a comment. [:-(

You know Robyn, I never had word verification until one day spammers went through my ENTIRE blog and left illegible comments on every single post. I put word verification up for one or two weeks (much to my readers chagrin) and then took it off again. Touch wood, I haven't been bothered since.

I'm with Nick and Gypsy,WV bugs me more than spam.

I get it once in a while too...WITH the verification. One just recently was about a mile long.

Dear me! I think I got my first spam comment this morning actually... I mean my first absolutely 100% genuine spam comment... but even that, I got the impression the person who sent it had googled stuff to do with my drugs problem (as it came from a rehab)... unfortunately it was over in the United States otherwise it might actually have come in useful

oh! I'm telling lies.

the other type of spam tends to be a message from someone you don't know telling you they "love your blog" and giving a link back to their own... in our common hazy whirl we tend to assume it's someone we made contact with at some point. Not so! I've had a couple of those but they're never persistent... in fact all told the top and the latter have only accosted me about 3 times and according to my email I've had well over 7000 comments so that's not bad!

Ya, you tell 'em Robyn! lol I've never had WV on my blog because I've only ever had a couple of spam comments in the 2 years I've been blogging...watch me get a whole bunch now! lol Love that couch and chair your daughter got...amazing the good deals you can find in the Trading Post. Hope your weekend is going well!! xoxo

I hate spam, I was looking at some of my back posts and saw that one had almost 100 comments.
65 were spam.
I wish I knew where they lived.

Hi Robyn, I use V W for that reason to try keep out the spam.
But took it off a couple of weeks ago but if spam starts its back on...

I hate word verification, but I hate spam more, so I also use the word verification for exactly the same reason.

I wonder if you are in love although it's not spring in Australia. Mitzi missed Cats on Tuesday, and here is no new post either. I purr because I just subscribed to one week Photoshop training in a summerschool here !

Where are you? It's been 12 days and I am concerned. So is Alex. OK?

I see that you've received one of the nastiest spam comments, the one from "Akinogal." He's hit me a couple of times and each time I complain to Blogger.

Perhaps you do need the word verification.

So sorry you are having this problem. I hope they will back off and leave you alone.

ever had the one that says "I like your blog ever so much I will put you in my blogroll..." never ANY sign they have read a word you put... then it says blah blah click HERE and HERE or something always with the links in blue I get them now

also more complicated longwinded ones about treatment facilities which I don't mind so much but I know they come electronically

That's a bore - I don't use it but have noticed a little bit of spam lately myself, especially for cheap steroids (?). Happy Easter and just to let you know we're at Tokyo airport (Christine that is not FAZ) and will be in Cairns in just 8 hours - 4 days there then to Brisbane and home. Can't wait.

Spammers really suck, I've had to keep comment moderation on for years now because I can't stand the idea of spammers plugging in their links on my own space without my permission. Hope you will be spam free from now on.

How are you doing? Hope you are well. Hope you had a very happy Easter. Nermal sends you and Mitzi purrs and head butts :)
