How Boring...

It is, it's very boring...but it's the reason I haven't been around much the last few days. Remember I had that respiratory infection a few weeks ago? Well, it recurred. I know why. It's because the antibiotics I had at the time were so upsetting to my system, I didn't take the repeat. I told my GP that they upset me, but as things seemed to be ok, he didn't give me any more. Which was fine by me as I don't like taking too many medications.

Yeah, well...I had to go get some more, didn't I? My chest became very sore and I had difficulty breathing regardless of using inhalers. Anyway, this latest lot of antibiotics seem to be a lot more gentle...for which I am very thankful...and they're also doing the trick, so it seems that I will be able to take the repeat and not have any dire consequences (touch wood!...what are you talking about...I'm not superstitious).

However, he has banned me from swimming until I have got rid of it completely. Do you know what the temperatures have been here? We had 40 degrees yesterday and pretty close to the same today...and I can't go in the pool? He has no idea what I'm going through...don't get me wrong, I like the heat...as long as I can jump in the pool and cool off. Although I must admit 40 degrees is a bit too hot beside which, it's March. Why are we getting 40 degree heat in March?

Altogether now..."it's global warming/climate change/or what other name you can think of" etc, etc. Ah...but, could it be just a natural progression in the scheme of things? Don't be daft...that's far too easy.

Sorry, gentle reader, you'll have to excuse the sarcasm. I'm very cynical when it comes to politicians...at the moment we're having local, state and Federal governments all playing the blame game over Australia's water crisis. It's an arid country, for heaven's sake. Of course there's going to be a shortage of water! But...do the powers that be have any foresight. Huh! The only foresight they have is how many dollars they can put in their pockets for their fancy lifestyles, travel junkets and superannuation...

No. I'm not going to say anymore. I'll just get too wound up and that's not a pretty sight!

To change the subject to a more peaceful one...it's St Patrick's Day this week, so if you're fully Irish, have a little Irish or don't have any Irish at all in your background...don't worry about it. On St Patrick's Day everyone's Irish...to be sure, to be sure! So grab yourself a Guinness, wear something green and enjoy what the day may bring. Slainte!

Robyn,
I hear ya with the uri business!
I had it full blown for two weeks and the cough (non-productve) is going on the 4th week now. To top it off I did some confounded injury to my knee and could't run for three weeks. Ran yesterday and I feel like I'm starting from scratch.
I'm sure I can blame it on global warming and political shenanigans but I've got a marathon to train for so I can't be bothered blaming.
Have a good week my dear.

Sorry to hear you've not been well, Robyn. I hope you're well on the mend now, though. It certainly was hot yesterday...but it's great up here today, so far. We had a little bit of rain earlier in the morning.

I married (second time) on 21st March and it was an incredibly hot and humid day, so really, what we experienced yesterday isn't new but, in saying that, I wish summer would disappear and let us enjoy the balmy days of autumn!

I'm going to cook something very Irish on Saturday...haven't made up my mind yet what...but I'll think of something suitable. I'll have to go out in the yard and search for four-leaf clovers! Or perhaps a little green man! Knowing my luck, I'll probably find the "Hulk"! ;)

Btw, Robyn...I just noticed...thanks for putting FauxNEWS in your links. :)

I remember my Mum came across a four leaf clover patch one day and picked the whole lot... she then gave one out to the reception at my wedding... so everyone could share in the good luck. How nice was that!

I hope you feel better very soon Robyn. xox

Aaawww, Robyn, hope you are starting to feel better, and the anti-biotics aren't doing evil things to you this time !!
Feeling crappy, and the mega-hot weather ... to much for anyone.
Hope all is well, otherwise.
Have a great week.
Take care, Meow

Hi Robyn,
Oh.. poor you... I HATE being ill.. that's what's boring!

I see our new water restrictions (level 5 now) say the only things we can wash on the car is windscreens, lights and mirrors, and Noel agrees with you about the hysteria over 'climate change' - he says we have another ice-age on the way.

I came in via bloglines - I am trying to get it working - so this looks VERY promising.

Hope you are feeling more on top, hugs coming your way...

Rel: You sound as bad as me. Isn't a pain in the proverbial? Go easy on the marathon training until you feel totally well and your knee is ok. Hugs.

Lee: You're right. This weather isn't anything new, really. We've had a relatively cool summer so those hot days are a bit of a shock to the system. There have been fierce hail storms in April, so we've got a few more weeks yet.

Nicole: What a lovely idea for your wedding. I hope the luck happened! Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Meow: Things are fine now and the antibiotics are fairly benign thus far. I'm having a glass of wine...first one for a week...and so far, I'm still upright...lol. Thank you for your kind wishes.

Angelo & Nermal: Good to hear from you guys. No, it's not hot in a Paris Hilton way (is that hot...or not!)just perspiringly hot! Glad it's cooler today, only about 28 degrees.

Della: Yeah, it was a real pain in the pants...however you can't kill weeds! I didn't realise we could wash anything on the car! No matter, I'm going to turn the pump on and use the water in our tanks to wash the car and water my pot plants while I'm at it! Thanks for your kind wishes, Della.

Hi Robyn ~~ I am so sorry you have been unwell. It is no fun and some of those anti-biotics are hell to take. I felt awful while on them and spent a lot of time in the loo. Do hope that you will very soon be back to normal to enjoy life again. Glad you liked the jokes and the story of 57 cents. Do take care dear Robyn,
Love, Merle.
