I'm on Leave for a Week!

Yay! I love school holidays because a lot of the doctors take leave, there's not enough work to keep us going and I get time off and...get paid for it! Yessss! So, next week I don't have to get up in the dark and cold. It's painful getting out of a lovely warm bed at 4.45 am and getting into the shower. The shower itself is ok, it's the bit between undressing and getting under the hot water that's chilly.

When we had the rain a couple of days ago, the temperatures were reasonably mild. Not so today, this afternoon especially...it's bleak and miserable. The morning was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky and although there was a biting wind, at least it was sunny.

When I was going to catch the train after work, there were some people in the lift with me who came from the tropics...I think they wondered what they had struck...they were bundled up even more than I was. From the conversation, they were feeling a trifle cool down here in Brisbane.

There's going to be a Bloggers' Convention in Brisbane this weekend...for the grand total of three people. There should have been four but one couldn't make it. I'll let you know how it goes...two of the suspects will probably read this. Oh, alright, I'll put you out of your misery.

Peter (from Holtie's House) and Warren (from Wazza's place) and I are going to meet sometime over the weekend (haven't decided the time yet). Lee (Kitchen Connection) was invited, too, but she had made prior arrangements and couldn't be there. Should be a lot of fun...judging by the posts these two put up.

Trouble is...how will we know one another? It's easy for me...I'll just see two blokes sitting at the same table...ah hah! But, they have to recognise me. I could make it easy by putting a message across the PA system..."Will Peter and Warren please meet Robyn by...". Or I could have a red rose between my teeth and flamenco my way towards them...nah! I don't think I can flamenco all that well. Another option is a placard..."Will two reprobates who call themselves Peter and Warren please stand up and wave." That would create a bit of a kerfuffle, wouldn't it? Interesting, though...I think I might try that one.
I'll let you know how it goes...it'll be fun! I'm taking my camera to record the event for posterity.

Just like a woman to blab about it before the event even happens Robyn, I got instructions from Lee to make sure we all behaved ourselves.... so we'll tell her we did just to keep her happy.
You forget that we have your photo (no not that compromising one) to aid in recognizing you... but the Flamenco thing sounds like it would set the standard for the "convention" BUT there will be NO PHOTOS of posteriors allowed.

I always have to laugh when you talk about "cold" I think you would slowly die here in Belgium with that disgusting clima we have (otherwise it's very nice to live here).
So you are going to a Bloggers' Convention ! and whole Australia will be coming, lol ! Put a Newspaper under your arm or "The Playboy". I am curious what you will tell us about.
Rosie indeed is a nice kitten but you know there is a big difference between female and male kitten. When I remember all the didoes Arthur made at that age ! Climbing in curtains, falling in the toilet, falling behind a big shelve so that we had to get the whole thing down etc. etc. Rosie doesn't seem to be like that at all and Pookie at that age wasn't either. It's just like with humans, girls are quicker as boys in developlment and more calm too, lol !
