Score Six-Nil to Queensland

You little ripper! We've got the series for this year. The best out of three games... and we've won the first two. Oh, I do love to gloat...(evil laugh).

Liz, from the Finding Life Hard blog (see my sidebar under "Liz") asked what the game was and for those of you who don't live in Australia, it's rugby league or NRL. The State of Origin series is where players from New South Wales and Queensland form representative teams to play off in three games. Players do not necessarily normally play for their home state...until this series. So you get players who normally play for a NSW team, but originate from Queensland, playing for the maroons and players who originate from NSW but play for a Queensland team, playing for the blues. Confusing, I know, but such fun. As they say in the lead up to the series...mate against mate. Each year the playing location is different, ie. this year the first game was in Brisbane, the second in Sydney and the third will be in Brisbane again. Next year that order will be Sydney, Brisbane, Sydney.

In the past, the Telstra Stadium has been a non-event for Queensland in that we haven't ever won a game there...until last night...now you realise why I'm so jubilant. Hopefully, the jinx is broken and we will win more games there.

So, there's no decider this year...the third game is a courtesy game...because this year's State of Origin goes to Queensland. Heheh...the Queensland flag will be flying from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge...what a wonderful sight to see!

I was wondering where that evil laugh was coming from! hehe Great that your team won...woohoo!! Rugby is not a popular game here in Canada although some have tried to introduce it. We are more into hockey, baseball and football!! xox

Hi Robyn ~~ I thought of you while I watched the Qld win. Congrats !!
Thanks for your comments. I also like that quote about "live fast, Die Youngand be a good looking corpse."
I had a very dear male friend who
used to say that one. He died suddenly at 54 ans WAS a good looking corpse. Glad you liked the Hosp.
chart notes. Hope your bleak day is over for the year- ours are not.
Take care my friend, Love, Merle.

Congratulations! Let's see Queensland go on to win the third game as well - just to put the final nail in!

It sounds as if there's the sort of rivalry that occurs in the UK when a 'subservient country' team plays England: as long as we beat the English, that's okay.

I only can congratulate you ! I am not intersted at all in sport games except tennis from time to time. So I never watch anything.
Little Rosie behaves already very well and started today to follow me everywhere. It's Arthur and Pookie they are still not used but I think it gets better already.

Congratulations (I think!) : I don't know rugby so it's confusing but I have been reading your posts about this. Wanted you to know that I am trying to get it! LOL
