The Fourth of July and Great Things are Happening

First of all, it's Independence Day for the United States of America. Happy Fourth of July to all our American blogging friends.

Secondly, and just as important, is Origin III. Of course, Queensland are going to win this one too and make it a clean sweep of the series. Right? Riiiiight!

We're having an Origin Party with all the neighbours and kids...it's school holidays, so it doesn't matter when the kids go to bed. Jacqui and Dave, our front neighbours are the hosts this time. They have a big TV room with a fireplace, so there'll be us, Wendy and Roger from the back and probably Allie and Steve from across the road. Should be a good night.

Harry is staying over tonight and I haven't seen him for a couple of hours. He, Mitchell and Scott are on the property somewhere tearing around on bikes and scooters and generally being boys. Of course, they're hyped up because of tonight...great fun for them, and there'll be other kids as well.
Well, I've bought my share of nibbles for tonight, plus a bottle of Chardonnay, which is chilling as I write (and not forgetting the Lotto ticket for tonight, too). I try to remember to take my camera tonight and let you know what happened with the game tomorrow.

Have a great Fourth of July and State of Origin night.

Enjoy ! and I am so jalous about your bottle of Chardonney ! When I visited my son in London, it was my favourite drink ! And was imported from Australia ! To me it tasted much better then the french one !

Hi Robyn, well no whitewash series, but we won the series two / one so who cares it was a better game than the score 18/4 sounds.
Hope the partly went welly.

Hi Robyn ~~ I hope you are not too upset about the State of Origin match. Glad you liked my flowers and the Neighbours thing. Probably written by a Republican!!
Anyway I hope you all had fun watching the game together. The kids would enjoy the company of each other. Take care my friend, Love, Merle.

Thank you again for the good wishes for our holiday. But this post reminded me of a naive question I have for you: do kids have winter off of school instead of summer like they do here? You said they are on break, so I got totally confused (again. as always). Thanks!
