To Those Who Don't Live in Australia

IT'S STILL RAINING IN SE QUEENSLAND! I can't believe this...it has to be the best rain for years. It started last Saturday and apart from a day or so, it's been raining for seven days now.

Yesterday it hardly rained at all, just a sprinkle here and there, but last night it bucketed down most of the night and it's still going, but not as hard. On the weather at 6.30 last evening, they said hardly any went into the dams, but on looking at the radar later on in the evening, there was plenty going into the dams. So now, hopefully, there will be run off and maybe, just maybe, the dams will rise millimetre by millimetre.

Already there are creeks and streams running that have been dry for years...there are even waterfalls!! This is soooo exciting...our tanks are overflowing and we have three of them each holding 22,000 litres of water...none of these 5,000 litre cups for holding water. Go big, is Fred's motto.

I'm going to take a drive later on and see if the Logan river has got any water...it bet it has, it may be halfway up to the Maclean bridge...woohoo!
I'll keep you updated...

These "tanks" seem to be important; you have mentioned them several times. Are they cisterns to collect the water? If so, what do you use the rainwater for?

It's still raining up here, too, Robyn. Wonderful, lovely stuff! Water, water and more water! More to drink! Love every moment of it. The cats are going a little stir-crazy every now and then, but they're fine...cuddled up inside with me. It can hang around for weeks as far as I'm concerned. The tank here is full, naturally and the aquifer is being topped up as I type! ;)

Will someone help me! I'm biting my tongue and it's becoming very uncomfortable! Tanks! Tanks! Pleeeeze! They are not those mechanical ones! They are the ones that hold, store water. Rain water! Water is to bathe in...to drink..to water one's plants...to cook with!

There...I let it out! ;)

Hi Robyn ~~ How wonderful that you are getting all that rain at last.
Great that you have those large tanks, and hope the dams get plenty.
Glad you liked my photos - they were sample pictures with my new computer
but I thought they were nice enough to share. Get a printer cartridge Robyn - the meatloaf is delicious!!
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

We could do with some of that rain down here in South Australia. Should I do a raindance?
