I now own my car outright. Yep, today the last payment was made and it's 100% mine!!
Soooo...meet Holly! I bought her just before Christmas, hence...Holly. It was when Hyundai had first brought out this model, the Getz, and I had one of the first ones in Brisbane. At first I used to get a lot of stares...now every second person has one. But! I have a GTZ registration plate, not very many Getzes had that.
Holly and Jane's Camry share sleeping quarters.
We have frangipani and the Australian flag...patriotic we are.

My frangipani car seat covers which my daughters gave me last Christmas, along with...
the matching steering wheel cover and a dashboard protector, which you can just see top right, above the speedo.
This model is two door with a hatch and five on the floor, which suits me fine. It's a great little car and goes on the smell of an oily rag. I spend about $30 per fortnight in fuel and considering I live in the country, that's not too bad. On a long trip, apparently it does over 500 km on a tank of fuel. But the bonus is that it has a real you beaut sound system with plenty of oomph! I could crank it up and you would hear doof, doof, doof! However, I don't like it that loud, but I know it can get to a lot of decibels with chest rumbling bass. It also has a security feature on the stereo system so if it's nicked, it won't work...heheh!
The doors cannot be open any way at all without the key once they are locked. I once locked my keys in the car and the RACQ wouldn't touch it. They said the only way they could get in would be to take the doors off...nice to know car thieves would be foiled. I got a key from the dealers that lets me open the door but it won't work in the ignition. Suits me fine, I have a spare key which I keep hidden in a very secure place.

Congratulations! :) Your car looks very nice! :)
When I drive Husband's Porsche (very old car but porsche nonetheless) I like to play 'I'm a sex machine' very loudly! Or Aretha's Respect. Cars can have a bad influence!
Yours looks very smart and I like the number plate to match.
Hi Robyn ~~ Congrats on the last payment, must be a great feeling!!
It looks like a nice car too.
Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed the OLD jokes. Bot so funny when they fit so well. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that loves Fejoa fruit. It is an unusual taste - -yum.
Will they grow in Qld? They would make a nice hedge. Take care my friend, Love Merle.
Congrats!! It must be nice to OWN your car!! We are working hard on that here at this house!! I have never heard of this brand but it must be Australian!! I can understand how PROUD you are to finally own it!! Hope you have a great day. We are off to our daughter's today for Thanksgiving. Sandy
congrats! you know that it'll fall apart now, right? sorry to say. Sorry.
In Vermont the plates begin with three letters then three numbers. And Amy's three letters are DMB. She hates it. It's like this banner saying I AM DMB.
That's strange about the doors and the lock.
Have a warm day, Robyn!
Congratulations!
Sounds like a secure car… as long a the thief doesn’t break a window to get it!
Gidday Robyn,
I'm gonna purchase a new car next year and I'm seriously thinking of getting a Getz. My last three visits to my daughter in Mackay, the vehicle I received at the rental place was a Getz. It's a smooth car and goes like a shower of sh*t. The one I had over the last 10 days was a red one and everybody knows that red cars go faster, so I may have to ask for a red one.
Congrats Robyn. What a sensational feeling and I love her name. My car's name is Daisy but she is old and decrepit (a bit like me) but I love her nevertheless. I fear she may not be with us too much longer so I may be in the market for another car myself.
Hi again Robyn ~~ Thanks for your comments
Glad you liked my Fluffy Duck. The name sounds familiar, so maybe there is a cocktail of that name. Glad you liked the
Dusting article/ laughed at your dust-
bunnies having names!!! Sitting glued to the TV for the election results.
Take care, Love, Merle.
Congratulations to you!! It is always nice to have your car paid for. It looks very well cared for too...I would shudder to show you pictures of the inside of our SUV...Hubby uses it for work...'nuff said...lol!
Have a great day my friend!
=)
