Remembrance Day

I'm not going to say too much about Remembrance Day other than to say thank you to all those who served in all the conflicts since the first Remembrance Day after World War I.

However, if you want to read a very powerful post, go to Walker's blog and read what he has to say. He says it all much better than I ever could.

There is a powerful song about a WWI solder's grave which I always think of and sing on 11/11. It's entitled "The Green Fields of France" and also called "No Man's Land."

The song ends with these words:

And I can't help but wonder, no Willie McBride,
Do all those who lie here know why they died?
Did you really believe them when they told you "The Cause?"
Did you really believe that this war would end wars?
Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame
The killing, the dying, it was all done in vain,
For Willie McBride, it all happened again,
And again, and again, and again, and again

We owe so much to those that volenteered to go fight for the right reasons, I can;t say much for the motives of some of the leaders that sent them but we can't forgewt those that went out for honorable reasons
