Look what I've got!

My very first Valentine...from Anni over at Hootin Anni's. Isn't it just so cute? Thank you so much, Anni, you've made my day.

It's raining, it's pouring....

Oh yes, it sure is. This is monsoon weather and we're being notified of severe weather warnings and strong winds later tonight. Already there have been boats smashed on the rocks further up the Queensland coast, people being rescued and of course, prangs and bingles on the roads. People travel too fast and too close for the conditions...bucketing rain. I had an idiot speed past me from a merge lane...when the lane had all but run out...then he's going to wonder why he hits someone. Absolute dickhead...

Of course, the best thing about all this rain is that it's falling in the catchment areas for the dams. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of damage...I guess the six o'clock news will be showing it all.

I did mention to someone that I'm in danger of developing gills. He replied that he was looking out for the Ark...

Yah for water in the Dams, not so much for the damage that has happened.

Hi Robyn. Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. These jobs are wrecking my blogging life, I swear. But I hear what you say about poor drivers. We've had every road coated in ice, black ice, and snow for a week now. People still drive like it's mid-summer! You see them all over in the ditches too! (Unhurt because there is so much snow it is safe to crash). But it's pretty expensive.

See, when I read your posts I always wish I knew you in 'real life'. I just know you would have me grinning whenever we talked! Love your 'gills' remark!

Geez Robyn, I wish some of that rain would fall here. Its been weeks and weeks since we've seen even a sprinkle and the ground is like concrete. Everything on my property is dead or dying and it's really quite depressing seeing everything so brown and lifeless.

What a sweet valentine. I love the chickie.
Sorry you are getting so much rain. We have had a lot too but it was a lovely sunny day today and very welcome. We don't know how beautiful the sun is until we have had a lot of cloudy days.

Good news that you're getting rain but I hope you can swim!

I was just tickling kitty's tummy as I read and her purring made George look up in puzzlement!

Hi there Poppet!

Spent the half day fishing and I'm now ready for bed. The chickens ran around scaring the fish and eating everything in sight. My BF's son caught the only fish and it rained for half the time lol. Tried to put a tarp up but ended up flying a montruous blue kite instead! What a sight indeed.

Congratulations on the 'retirement' news but it sort of feels like the beginning of a new adventure for you I hope. Send my love to Suze... tell her I finally have a package ready to post off. She will faint with shock. A little something in it for you.
