What a Bargain!

Younger daughter is moving and wanted a new lounge. The one she has is past its use by date. However, she didn't have a lot of cash so looked in the Trading Post and found this...

... A two seater, plus...

...two chairs, all in mint condition, well made (not Super Amart stuff) and guess how much?

$300? No. $200? No. $100? Almost got it...$99!

Anyway, I'm babysitting it at the moment until my daughter is able to move and Mitzi thinks it's wonderful to curl up on, or to sit on the back and survey her world. If it wasn't so flowery, I wouldn't mind it myself...

Yes its a bit flowery for my blood too but what a bargain!!!

I bought a lounge suite at Super Amart when we lived in Qld for $700. That was 15 years ago and it's still going strong despite some pretty harsh treatment from two babies and a few different dogs.

When I saw the picture I thought I have seen this seat already ! and that was indeed yesterday but with Mitzi on, lol !
Your daughter really did a very good bargain on that ! and if you don't like the flowers there are so beautiful covers for seats today !

yes you said it "if it wasn't so flowery"... that's so retro it's absolutely classic... if you could have (OK probably you don't need it Down Under) one of those 1950s gas fires... a huge 1950s cooker, radiogram/wireless etc etc those would look really funky

actually $99 isn't that about £40? that's not bad for a 3-seater suite... if I could get a nice hearth rug and a bong-clock for the mantlepiece I might go for them

(I love retro stuff: with my ex we looked at this old house for her mum to move into; her mum seriously thought I was joking when I raved about the funky gas fire it was so 1940s ... seriously I used to live near shops that charged £1000 for stuff like that I'm serious!)

OK I'll stop babbling now take care!

ps where on earth did I get the idea you lived in Melbourne?

(probably because nearly EVERY Aussie I meet seems to be a Melbournite: my rels are ALL in/near Sydney and yet nobody from Sydney ever seems to come online: are they all to busy having barbies on the beach? That's what I was told... anyway! Are you near Brisbane then..? Is Cairns in Queensland? I'd love to live in Cairns it looks wonderful... right on that Gt Barrier reef... tropical year-round sunshine (don't tell me about the funnel-webs!)

Sorry you are getting spam ~ I get a few but just delete them.

Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

I am a clearance and bargain shopper so I would be thrilled to spend just 99.00....Even if you do not like the fabric there are things that can be done to fix that. How is Mitzi doing..guess i should visit her blog. I am staying at the hotel this morning. My daughter's house is small and with all of the mess from that dirty awful kitchen...well you would stay here too. Sandy

Mitzi had better not get too comfy on it!
