Holy Guacamole!

I just had to let you know...

Remember my post a couple of weeks back about the fun and games I was having with Centrelink over my pension application? Today I had a look at my bank balance to see if an invoice had been paid and what do you know? There was far more money in there than what the invoice amount was worth.

Woohoo! But...and here's the thing, no explanatory letter, no phone call...nothing. So, I've put it aside just in case they've made an error (to put it politely) and I have to give some of it back. After the shenanigans in the past, nothing would surprise me...

You are wise to set the extra funds aside. It seems no good ever comes from that kind of error...

This is my first visit to your blog. I really like the photo of the cats on your site.

I hope you can keep it ! they should send you some explanation ! or you will get it in snail mail and that lasts ! I got a 6 € (!!!) pension increase this months and also no explanation. Fortunately they had talked about it on TV so of course I spent this enormous amount !

The wheels within Centrelink turn ever so ponderously Robyn, you will become accustomed to this in time.

Always a good idea to put unexpected (and unexplained) wealth aside...just in case the idiots are behaving in their normal mode.

woohooo! I hope they didn't make a mistake and really meant for you to have the extra money. But you're right to put it aside in case you need to give it back.

Yes Robyn, Centrelink are very good at being Indian givers so definitely don't spend it just yet.

My mum recently found $1500 extra in her account and couldn't work out where it came from. It turned out it was me. I had transferred it to her account instead of one of mine by mistake. She had given me access to her bank account once when she went away for an extended period of time and I still had the details. A good thing she's honest because i hadn't realised my mistake.

I had that happen to me once, and I DID the same as you...I put it back for a 'just in case of error'...thing is I drew it out and opened an account to draw interest on the amount.

Hope you can keep it!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my Thursday blog. You made my day!! Hope your day treats you well.
