Wildlife Abounds

We are being inundated with wildlife. That's because I don't let the cats outside. We had Skippy (the kangaroo) visit us for two mornings in a row. Last night Fred saw a snake on one of the inground water tanks, but it was too dark to see whether it was a poisonous one or not. Ken's seen a couple of green tree snakes (non poisonous), we have the bearded dragon that has obviously made the garden its home and the latest resident is a blue tongued lizard.

It was outside on my patio and by the time I had grabbed the camera it had gone behind some of Fred's terracotta pots. It was pretty fat, so I'm guessing it's female with babies...it's that time of the year. Jane and I both took photos, although Jane kept saying that it was a snake. But I've never seen a snake with legs.

The beginning. Look closely and you can see its blue tongue, hence the name.

Here endeth the lizard...

Oh, how interesting ! I´ve never seen a lizard with those colors. We only have lizards in the Zoo.
Luna would try to catch it if we have one...

It seems to me that you have a whole zoo in your garden ! Snakes where I have worms and now even a snake with paws ! My cats would soooo enjoy to play with all these creatures !
But I can understand that it might be dangerous.

Your backyard is a zoo.
At least you don't have to feed them and if you ever loose a cat you know where to look for it.

Dear Robyn ~~ You have lots of livestock around you - what fun. So long as they stay outdoors!! Glad you liked the story about Kevin. There are some great stories
out there. Sorry to hear your Mum has gout also, it is very painful. I take tablets for it. OK for now. And you Mum is entitled to her drink at her age.
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

Natures creatures are amazing! We have no ones like that over here and I think I'm glad for that though :-)

Great to see them in a photo anyway. Kinda scares the h*ll out of me just at the thought of meeting one.

If I saw a kangaroo in my yard, I'd think I was in the Twilight Zone! lol All we get are fox, bears, raccoons...you know, the boring animals. hehe Oh wow, look at that, it DOES have a blue tongue, that lizard! And yup, I can see tiny feet as well. I can't even imagine having poisonous snakes around. Do you hear of a lot of people getting bit by them? You stay safe!!! xoxo
