Clearing the Issue...literally!

A couple of readers are puzzled over who the kids are and where Peter fits into the picture, so I shall elucidate.

Peter is my youngest daughter's ex partner. She had Gabbie before she met him, but Brooke (who isn't in this trip) and Harry are their two children. Harry now lives in NZ with his father and is very happy and settled there. He was becoming a bit of a problem, not taking any notice whatsoever of his mother, slacking off at school, totally ignoring the teachers. So my daughter and Peter discussed the whole thing and it was decided that Harry go and live with his father. It's the best thing they could have done for him...he's so happy and settled, is doing well at school, has made some lovely friends and has generally turned himself around. He told us very clearly that he does not want to come back and live in Australia.

It's a big relief for my daughter and, of course, Peter is very happy to have his son with him. Brooke is going over for a month at Christmas time and Harry is coming to Australia for the Easter holidays. They phone often and have the best of both worlds...holidays in NZ and Australia respectively.

So there you have it...one part of the family sorted out. But we are a very mixed up and "blended" family...however, I won't confuse you any more.

Its good to see parents getting along this well and putting the welfare of their kids first.
Sounds like Harry is happy and thats what matters

Dear Robyn ~~ I was wondering if Gabbie was Peter's daughter, so you have cleared that up for me. Glad that Harry is happy in New Zealand and that his parents worked things out for the best.
It is great they can visit between the 2 countries. The Pandol Osteo does help,
but so did the Panadol. They are a bit stronger so may prove better in the long run. Have a great rest of the week, my friend. Love, Merle.

Thankyou for clearing this up Robyn. Now I completely understand and look forward to the rest of your trip now I know who all the players are.

Our family is a bit mixed-up, too, with my father having re-married, and my much-younger half-brothers.

What matters is that everyone is happy, and it sounds like Gabbie and her ex have worked things out very sensibly.

NZ is so pretty. Would love to visit it again. Your family sounds complicated but it's great you're all in touch so easily. Don't you just love the Net? it ameks talking to my mum (Spain) and my brother (Saudi) a snap from us here in Malaysia.

I remember when he went away for the first time and then came back and then finally decided to stay with his father. Very nice, at least now he is happy !
I love blogging even in holidays, there is always a time where I have nothing to do, between beach and supper because we go out after supper for a little walk through the city. It doesn't bother me that those russians behave like primates, it's simply sad for them ! As long as nobody bothers me of course ....

Well, that's what's it all is about, keeping the kids happy. Nice that they come along like this :-)

... maybe a family tree would help explain ...

by the by what's the weather like there, have you been suffering? My Dad says they've been getting some decent rain at last on the Gold Coast but some areas around Brisbane have been flooded and suffering black outs. Christine

Good solution for the kid and thats the most important I think.

We have a very mixed up and "blended" family too - so I understand what you mean :-)

Wishing you a wonderful end to your week.
