Waiting...waiting...

I get fed up with this...just sitting at home waiting for something to be delivered...anytime between 7 am and 7 pm. What am I waiting for? My Chrisco hampers...yes, that's right...hampers, plural. Five to be exact. I've been paying for them all year and today is delivery day...but, as I said, within a 12 hour window. I want to go out for about 20 minutes max, but as sure as I do, the truck will arrive and if no one's home to sign for them, they take 'em back and we go through the same process all over again. It would drive me to drink if I had any...I'm waiting for that in the hampers...12 bottles of wine.

I went up to Maroochydore last weekend, about a two hour drive from my place. It was a drinks and get together for the Brisbane/Sunshine Coast crowd who do the medical transcription work at home. I had lunch with them earlier in the year.

I stayed with my brother, who has a lovely unit a block back from the beach, within walking distance to Sunshine Plaza...very nicely situated. He came along to dinner with me. Dinner was at the Maroochydore Surf Club and was very tasty and reasonably priced. I had crumbed red emperor, salad and chips plus profiteroles for dessert...$20. For those outside of Australia, red emperor is a delicious reef fish and yes, the skin is red though the flesh is white.

We had a lovely time and Peter, my brother, was flirting outrageously with another Robyn. Nothing changes...

Peter and Robyn (he'd never met her before...fast worker, eh?)

G'Day Dear Robyn ~~ Yay ~ Crisco has arrived. I guess it's all unpacked and put away for now. I hope you didn't get stuck into it then and there. You will sure enjoy the Holiday season with all those Criscos. Thanks for your visit, and I thought "What were the grown-ups doing?" was a good line. Unfortunately the paper never runs out of news , a house burnt yesterday, and a haystack last night and a man missing at Uluru. He is from Nathalia where I used to live. Hope they find him alive. Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

Finally...a photo of you. Don't you look lovely and yes your brother is a fast worker. Good on him :)

How exciting getting FIVE Chrisco hampers. I bet you opened a bottle of wine while you pondered which goodies to eat first. Oh sorry...that would be me.

Why didn't you buy 2 or 3 bottles of wine, just to wait for the 12 to be delivered ? time would go by very fast and the truck driver would be happy to see such a funny lady !

I don't like waiting around for anything. I try to keep busy. It helps time pass by and keeps my mind occupied. Right now I'm waiting for the delivery of a couple memory cards for my camera.

So...is there any of the wine left from those hampers??? hehe Don't you know it's Murphy's Law that the minute you leave the house, that's when something will get delivered! lol

Sounds like you had a fun dinner with your brother...wow, I thought that was his wife or gf, the way they're cuddling! lol Yup, he's a fast worker for sure!!

Hope you're having a terrific weekend. We're having another snowstorm as I type this...sigh. Enough already!!! xoxo

Robyn,
See, a little blo time and everything falls into place!
Enjoy your hampers.
Eh, what exactly are hampers?
Here in the U.S., we call the collector of dirty clothes the hamper.

Hey there sunny smiling :-) Looks like you'll had a great time, including your brother.... *giggles*

Oh, I hate waiting like that even though they say that "the one that waits for something good, never waits for too long..." I'm not so sure I agree with them.

Hi Robyn, don't you just hate "delivery windows"? I'm glad your Chrisco hampers arrived, although I'm not sure what a Chrisco hamper is :) It makes me think of a big bag of shortening, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with Crisco lard....
