Demanding Kids

I was getting the clothes in off the line a little earlier. Jane had told me it was threatening to rain. While I was doing so, I could hear demanding cries coming from the big tipuana tree in our yard.

I looked up to see what was going on then went and grabbed the camera. Thank goodness it's got a really good zoom, because these birds were about 15 metres up and I was not climbing up there.

The galah parents have had two babies who are forever hungry. They're almost as big as the parents so probably aren't too far off being kicked out of home.

In this picture, you can see the parent quite clearly, with its beautiful rosy pink breast. The babies are a paler pink.

Here they are again and you can see the babies a little clearer. If you click to enlarge, you'll see them even better.

How wonderful and well captured. I so much remember I saw them and other exotic birds (for a Norwegian!) when I was in Perth more than 10 years ago.

It never ceases to amaze me, the gorgeous birds you get over there as wild birds!! You really did get some great shots of them, I enlarged them and can even see their faces clearly! xoxo
