A sinful weekend...

Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. What! I hear you say, is that all? Yes, I know, with that title I bet you thought you were going to read something salacious about what I've been up to. What terrible minds you lot have...

I now have enough chocolate to last me six months. I received a large fancy packet of Maltesers plus two packets of Malteser mini eggs from Mitch and Scott and a box of Ferrero Rocher chocs from my eldest daughter...so my loss of centimetres is going to turn into a gain, I can just tell.

I also received some beautiful gerberas from Fred as a thank you for being very devious with Jane before her surprise party.

My lovely gerberas. I did try to arrange them nicely, but the heads were heavy and wouldn't stay where I put them, so in the end I just plonked them in the vase with a few stems of maidenhair fern I had picked.

On Sunday, I drove down to see my youngest daughter and her three. Her youngest son, Harry, whom I've blogged about in the past, is over from New Zealand visiting for the school holidays. He'll be coming to stay with me next week. I had seen Harry in November when Gabbie and I were in New Zealand and when I saw him on Sunday, I was shocked at the growth spurt he'd had...he's almost as tall as me (163 cm). Anyway, I had bought them some marshmallow chocolate Easter eggs and had bought my daughter some Lindt chocolate bunnies and eggs. However, Harry doesn't like marshmallow and she does, so they swapped.

Gabbie, Brooke and Harry

Then I went to visit my eldest daughter and Cooper, who was telling me all about their new acquisition...a cockatoo named Georgy Girl. She's only 16 weeks old but can already say hello and imitates Cooper laughing. Cooper came up to give me a chocolate coated kiss, bless him, he had more chocolate outside than he did inside him.

When I arrived home around five, Fred asked me to come over. Jane had picked up her birthday present which he had bought her...a new puppy. She's a tri-colour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, whom Jane has named Kayla. However, our neighbour, Wendy, who also has a Cav has christened the puppy Kayla Jane...KJ for short, so that's what the little one is now being called by her mummy. I'll get some photos, because she so gorgeous and pretty feisty, too. The kids love her.

I hope you had a Happy Easter and that those of you who were driving home had a safe trip.

Lotsa chocolate! I knew you had class.

Chocolate is good for the soul and the body. It tastes good, too.

I am particularly fond of the dark variety. We always have Dove Dark pieces in the house. But, not for long. lol

I am able to limit my intake to a couple pieces after lunch and a couple pieces after dinner. It is a struggle, but I do maintain control.

It sounds as though you have had a wonderful weekend. There is nothing like young people to keep your spirits up.

I hope you get some photos of Kayla [KJ] to share with us soon.

And that bouquet is stunning! I love the colors.

Glad to hear that you had a happy Easter weekend.

Just don't eat for a months and you will be slim again ! I am curious to see the little puppy, apparently the Obamas got one too. Arthur thought he could be white cat in the white house !
I realize that you are 9 cm shorter than I am !

Hello dear Robyn:-)

Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter and I'm so glad you were able to spend it with family. Bite your tongue...there's no such thing as TOO much chocolate! hehe

I've just read your post about Jane's surprise birthday party and I'm soooo glad that it all went so well:-) What a shame it had to rain but good for all of you for not letting the weather take away the joy of the occasion! For sure this will be one birthday that Jane will never forget!! xoxo

That's my sort of flower arranging too!

I didn't have a single egg! But I bought myself a mini tube of eggs at half price today! I was hoping to find large egges at half price but no chance.

Sounds like you had a lovely time. Children grow so quickly.
