Away for the Weekend...Again

Well, I've stopped my so-called crime spree and have been having a pretty quiet week. I'm going up to Maroochydore tomorrow to have dinner with friends tomorrow night at the Mooloolaba Surf Club. But, before that I'm going a little further north to call in and see a blogger friend (you know, the one who has the dust buffaloes) in Gympie.

I'll be staying at my brother's and he has told me that one of my cousins will be there also. He (my cousin) was working as a photographer in the Whitsundays but due to the drop in tourism, he's been made redundant. So, he's come south where he has found work as a builder's labourer and earning good money for doing it, too. He's not worried about what he does, as long as it brings in money and he can go surfing.

I was saddened to hear the news of Michael Jackson's death today, although not entirely surprised. He was probably on medication of some sort for the reconstructive work done on his face and skin to ward off infection, etc and it was bound to take its toll eventually, along with the probable sleeping drugs and whatever that celebreties can get with ridiculous ease.
I just hope this very talented but unhappy, tormented soul is at peace now. RIP, Michael.
Hopefully I'll have some photos for you when I get back. Ciao for now...

Have to agree with you about MJ - he really was a sad case wasn't he. Not sure what to think was the cause

Enjoy the weekend you gad about you.

Give our best to our dust buffalo friend in Gympie.

You should have lots of great photos and I can hardly wait to see them.

Both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett passing on the same day is quite something.

Celebrities are not the only ones who seem to get their drugs with ease - unfortunately.

Have a great weekend.

ps have a great weekend, isn't it about midnight 30 already by you...?? Sometimes when i was miserable in the night (for want of drugs usually) I used to think forward to Australia and Japan and wish I could fastforward time... only thing is, if I had a magic button, I'd fastforward my entire life away!

10:40 pm. Did you set the time wrong? Or is my head clock wrong? And how come Australia has about 4 time zones if the time seems (usually) to be the same in all of them..??

I read something about Michael this morning on a blog, but I never thought he was dead ! My son called me this morning and told me. So sad we saw him in 1988 and he was such a wonderful performer ! Unbelievable. I think this child abuse thing which I never believed broke his heart.
The lake looks still the same. It's now 21 times I saw it. Sigh ....

I hope you had a wonderful time at the club with your friends. It is too bad about Michael, I suspected he probably had a heart attack from some of his medicine, I liked most of his songs. Hope you have a nice weekend.
