Winter Colour

Thanks so much for all your hints on how to overcome Blogger's upload image glitch. I have used nowhere near my "allowance" of uploads, so it wasn't that. I went to Blogger itself, into the Help area and tried all their solutions, but still nothing worked. In the end, I tried Picasa as someone suggested, as I already had on my computer and, voila! It worked.
So here are the photos I've tried to upload for the last few days.

One of Fred's lovely giant hibiscuses.

Not sure what this is, but isn't the foliage magnificent?

Here's a close up.

Hopefully this is now the end of my upload problems...fingers crossed.

I love the two-tone hibiscus, and those purple leaves are really pretty (yeah, I dunno what they're called either!)

Robyn,
I think they're called purply leafy thingies.
Glad picasa worked for you!

When we see hibiscus abroad I can never remember its name. I'd like to say that this will remind it but it won't! It's very lovely anyway as are the purpley things. (You have some very good gardeners visiting your blog!!)

"Purply leafy thingies"...Rel is always so helpful, isn't he! LOL Such gorgeous flowers and I agree, those purples leaves are just stunning!

Glad you were able to resolve the upload problems. Last year I ran out of storage space on Blogger so had to buy more space from them. I see, though, that it wasn't the problem you had:-) xoxo

Beautiful flower amazing that it blooms now in your winter season !

I never tried to upload with Picasa, that's a good idea, I'll try because I am far over my "allowance".

I think we are very much alike for getting old ! we are getting younger each year, lol !

Dear Robyn ~~ Great pictures. I like the hibiscus and the purply Coleus.
Glad you liked the Middle Wife and as you say, only a child could tell it like that. We all like the That's when the fight started.
It has turned very cold last couple of days. They actually had snow where the bushfires burnt 4 months ago. Black trees with a bit of green breaking through, and a carpet of snow. It has got cold here too. Take care, Love, Merle.

The Hibiscus is incredible!! I have never seen one with two colors. How big is the blossom? You said 'giant' and I'm trying to visualize just how wide it is.
I can't grow Coleus here because the slugs devour them as fast as they go in the ground. They sure are pretty though and I have seen a variety of colors too.
I'm glad you got the computer/blogger problem solved!
