Elvis is in the Building!

Elvis being a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who has a sister called Ava Gardner (I didn't know they were related, did you?). Jane and Wendy, big softies that they are, brought these dogs home from a Cavvie picnic they went to last weekend.

This is the saddest story...these two dogs are brother and sister, four years old and their owner surrendered them to Animal Rescue. Apparently the new boyfriend didn't "get on with them". My first thought when I heard that was, get rid of the boyfriend.

Anyway, back to the story. Both dogs were entire and Elvis, being a boy, was lifting his leg in all corners of the house...inside. Then he had diarrhoea and vomiting, so Jane had to take him to the vet where he stayed for two nights on a drip. The vet's report was that there had been a bit of negligence in his care. He was skinny and very needy for affection and attention. Poor little thing. His sister, on the other hand, has settled in well with Wendy and her family. But little Elvis is totally fixated on Jane...he just loves her and if she goes out of sight, he gets very upset.

Mind you, it's so funny hearing Jane talking about Elvis no longer lifting his leg inside...wonder what "The King" would think of that? Anyway, the lady from Animal Rescue is picking him up on Monday as she has room or has found a home for he and his sister.

Somehow, though, I don't think Jane will be so rash next time. She already has three dogs. including Kayla, the baby Cavvie, and the council only let us have two dogs per property. I told her she was a softie...

They are much better off with Jane than where they were! I commend her for her love and care for Elvis and Ava!

Elvis and Ava were fortunate to have Jane try to help them.

As for the boy "friend", I'd say dump him too.

poor Elvis ! A friend in my painting group also took a little dog home because her dog died. and that was the same problem, neglegted and the poor thing had never seen the world outside so of course he did his business inside, but now she is the perfect dog and they are happy together.
We are back since yesterday, although the region is very beautiful if you know it by heart you get bored especially with a husband who doesn't want to move ! Fortunately there was my son !
