Sex Education and Other Comedies

Jane was telling me last night that her eldest son has had some sex education at school. He was telling her about it and asked, "Mum, what's a condom?" So Jane explained what they were and how they helped to prevent the passing on of STDs, etc. Mitch then said, "Oh, so they're not to make your willie get bigger." Jane had a very difficult time keeping a straight face...

It brought to mind my eldest daughter when she was aged about four. We were living on the farm at that time and one lovely fine winter's day, she sat on the trailer helping to toss the hay to the cows. We came across a cow giving birth and so I thought it would be good for her to see what happened. She watched the whole procedure in absolute silence then when the calf had dropped and its mother was licking the membrane off its head, she turned to me with eyes the size of saucers and said, "I never knew calves came in plastic bags..."

My two eldest granddaughters had the same reaction when their mothers told them about the reproductive cycle and menstruation..."Ugh!"

My mother recalls that, when I was 13, she came home with my first bra thinking I'd be thrilled to bits. No. Instead she got an indignant "I'm not gonna wear that!" I wasn't ready to grow up.

Only from kids...

Hahaha ! and I as a "modern" mum bought condoms for my 15 year old son who went with a group skiing in Austria (thinking you never know) and all he brought back was pictures with all the boys who had blown up the condoms to baloons and had fun with the girls throwing them at their heads ! I think he wasn't ready yet either, lol ! and I was kind of ashamed because of my "sinful" thinking but since then what did I laugh!

I'm still giggling here at Jane's son's reaction to condoms, how funny! As they say, out of the mouths of babes:-) My mom just told me in time about menstruation...a week later I had my first period!! I was only 10 years old so she never thought I'd be starting so young! lol I now haven't had them in 5 months so hopefully I've seen the end of them...this menopausal thingie isn't bad at all! lol xoxo
