I thought I'd better post something as it's been a week...my bad! So, I cheated and took some more photos.
First of all, though, there was great excitement from Scott and his mate, Sarah. I went out to take the photos and I heard them yelling out to me. I looked up and they're tearing across the paddock, coming up from Sarah's place, yelling, "We've got something exciting to tell you!" They were beside themselves with excitement and I wondered what on earth they had to tell me.
It turned out they'd found a duckling under the trampoline. For some reason it was all on its own. It did have feathers but didn't/couldn't fly. So they carefully picked it up and Sarah's got it at her place in a secure warm spot.
The funniest thing though was when I asked them what they were going to call it. Sarah shrugged but Scott suggested Chuck...Chuck Duck...?
On to the flowers. Another of Fred's orchids. This is a new one so it was very exciting waiting to see what the flowers would be like. It took ages to open, but at last it's almost there.
A miniature arum lily. Did you know they are the Queen's favourite flowers? Apparently Her Maj loves these so her aides always make sure she has some in her suites when she is visiting her "peoples" (or peeps, in today's vernacular).
Part of a large bed of kalanchoes.
An unknown...to me, anyway. Not sure what it is, but it's very graceful and dainty. If any Aussies read this and know what it is, I'd be very grateful to find out.

I just can't do orchids as indoor plants, you wonder now, if they'd grow outdoors here in Coastal Texas.?!! You made me think of trying it. Someday. That last flower is very pretty. Looks like a native plant probably...a weeping grass of some kind? I hope you find out from other Aussie Bloggers and then, tell us.
Where is the picture of the duckling ?? Flowers are beautiful but not cute !!

They had the house built and it is terrific inside as well. Upstairs
there are three bedrooms, Master with ensuite and walk-in-robe, and
two bedrooms for the kids,Michelle 25, and Scott 21, another bathroom and a sitting room. Downstairs, a large loung, dining room, kitchen laundry and toilet. Also a games
room with billiard table and a stag head mounted on the wall.
I love it all (except the stag)
They had a single story home before that they had built before
They have both worked full time
all the years to help pay for it
Jo used to work at night in a
legal office, so Geoff was home
to be there for the kids.

I'm glad you took photos of your flowers - they are beautiful.
The last one definitely has flowers like a Correa, and whilst I know there is quite a variety of forms and growth habits, I don't know if there is one exactly like that. Your local nursery, especially if they specialise in Australian Natives, should be able to identify it. It's very, very pretty, both the flowers and leaves.
Alice is right Robyn, the flower is very like a correa but I don't know of any with the pine needle type leaves.
Thanks very much Alice and Peter. I googled correa and they had some beautiful species but none that are remotely like the plant we have. According to one website, they aren't even grown in Queensland.
Although the flowers on ours are tubular, it's the leaves or needles, that are the mystery. The flowers are a lot thinner, too. It could be a hybrid or cultivar, but somehow I don't think so and I have no clear reason for that...just at gut instinct.
If I ever find out what the answer to this mystery is, I'll let you know but for now, to make things easy, I'll just refer to it as a correa type flower.

Those arum lilies always look like wax flowers, don't they? I do like lilies though until they lose their petals and the pollen goes over everything!
Gday Robyn.. OHHH i love the Orchid, I have one of mine in bud wont belong and ill take a photo.Im not keen on arum lillies keep pulling mine out but they keep comming back, Very interested to find the name of that pretty rd one.. Get the camera out lets see chuch the duck.. LOL...
