A 40th Birthday Party

Saturday night (that's right Halloween) we went to our neighbour, Jacqui's, 40th birthday party held in the function room at one of the local pubs.  It's a new hotel so things were very posh.

As usual, our favourite band, of which Jacqui is female vocalist, supplied the music and they didn't  let us down.  I think they're rather keen on Elvis...we heard a lot of "Elvis has returned to the building" during the evening.  Jane, Fred, me, Ally and Steve, another couple of neighbours grabbed ourselves a table along side the dance floor.  Consquently,. we were christened the groupies...I've never been called a groupie before.  At my age, I rather like it.  But the term groupie probably originated from the fact that the band have played at quite a lot of parties we have attended over the last year or so, and there are at least two more coming up...mine and Fred's and his twin sister's 50th next year.

However, we had a great evening as usual.  Danced the night away as usual.  Woke the next day feeling totally wrecked as usual.  Where are the days when I could party all night and survive the next day on very little sleep?  I mean I was in bed by midnight, only had two glasses of wine (drank copious quantities of water the rest of the time) and danced a lot, but that shouldn't matter, should it?  I just don't know what's going on.  Fred very unkindly suggested I was getting old...the cheek of it!

Below are a couple of photos from the evening.

Jacqui and David, her husband (who is rides a pretty good show jumper...as in horse).

Jacqui's mother, Robyn (and my partner in crime) making her speech to Jacqui.

 Jacqui and me.

You're not getting older. It's the climate change or the chemicals in our food or something like that.
I'm glad you had a good time.

Sounds good to me being a groupie ! I too had a lot of fun, I went for the first time of my life to a Halloween party ! A "classmate" from my painting group invited me. I'll put pictures tomorrow for "my world". I didn't dance, I don't know why but I feel ridiculous so I pretent I have something at my back, lol ! and I liked dancing so much. Anyway we had a great time. In the last minute I changed my witch had to a more original one. I have a black beret and just fixed an enormous spider on it.

Sounds like you had a great time. Good for you.

Drinking lots of water will help prevent hangovers. Dancing the night away might just have something to do with you feeling tired the next morning.

Jacqui and David are very handsome couple.

Jacqui is just beautiful. She looks so good with that dress and looking at her photos reminded me of the women in Sex and the City.

Lastly, I love the blue outfit you're wearing and frankly you don't look old!

G'Day Robyn ~~ Great photo of Jacqui and you. Sounds like you all had a great time. Jacqui looks so young for 40.
I am glad you liked the petunia- it
is called Raspberry Blast, very pretty. This week went back to 25s but is warming up again.
I am looking forward to Peter coming to visit and hope Warren is coming for company all the long miles to W.A.
Congrats on getting your outfit
3 sizes down. Well done.
Take care, Love and Hugs, Merle.

Yup, it really sucks big time that we can't party like we used to! lol Sounds like a great time was had at the party and I so enjoyed looking at the pictures. Being such a big Elvis fan, I would have loved to hear Jacqui and her band sing his songs:-) xoxo

Robyn,
Just so you know: it has nothing what so ever to do with getting old. It has to do with practice!
