18 Days and Counting Down

That's right...in 18 days it's my BBB (big birthday bash). However, I'm a little concerned.  I've sent out about 30 odd invitations and have received five answers back...they can't come.  At this rate, there'll be no party!

So far...there's me, Roger from down the back (his wife has another party she would prefer to go to), Jane, Fred and Ken, Jacqui and David and...that's it!  Still, the RSVP date is 15 Jan...hopefully I'll have a few more acceptances by then.

It's getting to me though.  I've been having anxiety dreams...you know the ones, where you dream of all the disasters that could happen before and on the night?  In one dream, Greg (who has the band I've hired to play) sent his song list to me....and there were 20 songs on it to chose from!  Oh-h, it's not good.

Another worry is the weather.  We are in our wet season after all and so far we've had heaps of rain just in the last two weeks.  Then I heard some weather forecaster on TV say that there's a 90% certainty of a cyclone around 20 January...like I really needed to hear that!

Still, with all the goodies I've bought so far, if no one comes, I'll have plenty to eat...mini sausage rolls, spring rolls, spanokopita, party pies, Italian meatballs, crackers, chorizo and kransky, dips and the associated dipping bits and bobs...you get the picture.

I really need to chill out, I think.  Tell my subconscious that!

Give me that bottle of wine...

It will be fine. It doesn't matter how many come; I learned long ago that one human and cat can have a grand party.

I think I should take a plane, to help you eating the left overs, lol ! Only for the moment it takes you more time to get in the plane then the flight itself ! You will see often when you think that everything will go wrong it will be super !

Dear Robyn ~~ I am sure your party will be great, so stop worrying or
you won't enjoy it. Doesn't matter how many you have, you can still have a wonderful time.

Thanks for your comments on my family photos - I think they are
pretty special, as well as all my kids. I bought printer ink today
$67.00 for black and colour. but don't have a car anny more so no petrol for me.

Have a great New Year my friend and I am sure your B'day will be fine. Take care, Love,Merle.Hugs.

It takes two people to make a party and you have 5, 6 with you.
Thats a riot if you ask me but I am sure you will get a few more before the date

I think you are enjoying the worrying too much. I prescribe a closer union with the wine cellar.

Doesn't it just get to you when people don't RSVP? What a bummer.

I hope you have a wonderful party.

Some of the best parties I've had (and gone to) had fewer than 20 people. After all, it's not about quantity, it's about quality ;-)

Yes always a bit of anxiety when you
send out invites.... you know I'd
call them and find out for sure if
they're coming or not and say because
you need to know how much food to
make or order. :) Parties cost $ and
most people understand that food
could go to waste if there's way to
much. Yes after the holidays people
forget or lose those January invites!
Smile and Have a good day!

I think my invitation must have gone astray ...

Seriously, it's the people who come that will make the party special and there are already enough special people on your list to ensure it goes with a swing.

We shall wnat to see lots of photos! Especially of the birthday girl!

Dear Robyn, calm down and stop waiting for the other shoe to drop!

Well, says the man who wonder how many who shows up at the Oslo Blog Gathering  But then again; we can share a bottle of wine!

Btw: There will be plenty of participants in Oslo and we will celebrate each other :-)
