It's 2007!

Ok, it's not...quite, but hey! who knows what we'll feel like tomorrow - heh heh! I just thought I'd get in one more post for 2006 and wish all my blogger friends a wonderful 2007.

I always think the start of another year is quite exciting - you know, it's fresh and positive and we've put the previous year with its ups and downs behind us. I like to think that with a whole new 12 months in front of me, it's like a blank page in a diary, I can make what I want of it. I can write new beginnings, wishes and dreams. Some may happen, some may come nowhere near happening, and some may come a little closer. But, whatever happens, it's always going forward, never back and once it's past - that's it! I can't change the past, but I can learn the lesson and look forward.

Ok, enough burbling on...

I've only been blogging since what...June or so but I feel that the friends I have made in Blogworld in that time, have been friends for a lot longer. It's great to log in and see who's commented or what you've been up to. Like a lot of us, I don't post or even comment every day; hell, sometimes when I've been on the computer all day working, the last thing I want to do is stay on. But, when I do blog in, it's lovely to catch up and greet you all. Best of all is the sense of humour that comes through in a lot of comments, I love that!

We all have our good and bad times and I think sharing them, even in the medium of Blogworld, is a relief. We know we'll get the support and genuine caring and it's such a nice feeling. I don't know about you, but sometimes the real world can be a harsh place and I'm not saying you're not real people (are you??? lol), yet for my part I can get a lot of support here that is often lacking in my own world. Anyway, I don't mean to come over all maudlin - I just want to say that you're a great bunch and I'm glad I know you all.

So, that's my say for 2006. I hope you all have a fabulous New Year, whether you're partying or not, and that 2007 brings us all good things to negate any downers we may have experienced.

Love and hugs to you all, and I'll talk to you all next year!

Robyn

PS: I found this when I was going through my files - thought you might like to see it.

An Old Russian Prayer

Anonymous
Hear our prayer, Lord, for all animals,
May they be well-fed and well-trained and happy;
Protect them from hunger and fear and suffering;
And, we pray, protect specially, dear Lord,
The little cat who is the companion of our home,
Keep her safe as she goes abroad,
And bring her back to comfort us.
Isn't that beautiful?

I just pinched myself, Robyn...and it hurt...then I punched myself, just to prove I was 'real'!...Yep...I am! ;)

You're so right...tonight is in the end of one 'era' and we're about to take our first step into another! I'm going to be positive in taking that step! No tentative stepping for me! Eff all the problems in the world...I'm going to make 2007 a great year...no matter what! ;)

Have a terrific one...I'll be seeing it in...and hopefully the first sunrise of 2007...okay...still a few hours to go...but I'm pretty good at fulfilling my threats! ;)

It's been nice meeting you too, since I began 'blogging' in May. I'm still a relative 'newbie', too!

I'm having a fun night here...sipping on a Scotch and playing CDs randomly/spirally! :)

Hi Robyn ~~ You scared hell out of me "It's 2007" and I looked immediately at the time on the computer. I thought I'd missed it. Just enjoyed an Eagles concert in Melb.2004 on TV.
Put up some new calendars, have done some cooking and happily got back to blogger and was able to post. Well said about the friendships we make, it is amazing how close we feel to total strangers, that we will never meet/ maybe that's it,we feel "safer" talking to bloggers.And we are very real, my friend. Have a wonderful
year ahead. Love, Merle.

Robyn,
You take the high road and I'll take the low and you'll get to 2007 before me. ( it sounded cute when it popped into my head ;-))

Happy New Year Friend!

You're right. I too come here for the comfort and support given by unseens. Ther is a profound lesson here...and it's starting to reveal itself to me.

I'm really just a figment of your imagination (created by Issac Asimov) but no less your friend!

I hope one day to meet you face to face , but if that fails to come about, I'll content myself with our continued online banter.
