I've Worked My Fingers to the Bone!

Hey, I thought I was still on holiday! Not so, I went onto the
website where I download my work files and it wasn't too bad.
I was sucked in big time! I had been working a couple of hours,
only had two more files to go and was thinking about the book
I wanted to get my nose into. Then the Op Manager messaged me and said that there were heaps of files for another company and could I help out.

Five hours later, I decided to call it a day. My eyeballs were bouncing off my cheeks, my fingers were worn down to the elbow and my brain was Swiss cheese! And there are still files to be done. Too bad, someone else can do them or I will do them tomorrow - so there!

Question: Do I have "L" in neon lights on my forehead?? Answer: Yep, I do.
I'm going to see Cooper on Friday. He's seven months old now and has a real cheeky grin. His mother was telling me earlier she spoke to him quite firmly. Cooper looked at her for a minute and his mum wondered whether she had upset him. Then the little monkey laughed! Oh boy, he's got her sussed...
I was talking to my mum the other day - she's now 87 and when I rang her on her birthday, she was speaking very carefully. My cousin had arrived around with a bottle of champagne and mother had been partaking very liberally. I always know when she has been imbibing, she pronounces her words very carefully and if you could see her in person, you'd know, too. Her eyes get very round and she looks like an astonished, if rather elderly, pixie.
My eldest daughter took her partner to visit and he thought mum was hilarious. Apparently mum and Darryl got on like a house on fire and Toni wasn't allowed to say anything against him. She said it was really funny, but apparently at the end of the visit, mum told Darryl he had to be good to her granddaughter or he'd answer to her! Darryl was absolutely terrified. Heheh!
Ah well, that's enough waffling on for today, I've probably sent you all to sleep (well, I think I've sent myself to sleep - shrieks with laughter and then suddenly falls asleep).

Hi Robyn ~~ I am so sorry you ot worked so hard. My Dad had a saying, whenever we asked "how are you?" The answer was alway the same, "overworked and underpaid." You Mum sounds great for 87. Does she live close to you? I hope Darryl has been behaving himself. She sounds lovely.
Thanks for your visit, I was sad not to get to the funeral, but it went well and Michelle is fine. Glad you like the Friendship poem. Take care, dear friend, Love, Merle.

Oh Robyn...lol...I can always count on you to make me laugh!! I can just picture you now, shrieking with laughter then immediately falling asleep! lol I'm glad to see you decided to come out of hibernation...no fun in them cold dark caves! hehe Wow, you sure have been busy, though, but hopefully it will slow down soon! From what you've said about your mum in past posts, I think I would just love her too, she seems to be quite the character:-) Hugs xoxo

I used to give a friend a lift to work and he used to say that I had Sucker printed on my forehead because everyone would pull out in front of me. We're just too nice, that's our trouble!

If I last that long, I hope I'm like how your mother appears to be, Robyn! Still enjoying life to the hilt! Good on her! Way to go! :)

I'm a little confused...when I hit on 'comments' to post this...a screen came up with a huge black font with everyone's comments on it...and then it turned into this page! What sort of magical portion are you on, Robyn? ;)

I'm all confused over blogger this past week. I still can't post on my blog through Mozilla Fireworks...but can if I use Internet Explorer browser...go figure! I can't!

Merle: Yep, that's it overworked and underpaid. Actually I only get paid for what I do, it's not an hourly rate, so it's good if there is plenty of work. I'm glad your cousin is coping well and of course, it must have been a bit upsetting not to attend the funeral. I'm sure they all understood, though. Have a nice day.

Carole: I can't stay in hibernation for too long. I might miss something! Mum is one of a kind alright and getting worse as she gets older - elderly and behaving badly!

Lee: Jeez, I dunno what's going on. Everything seems fine when I type my post and answer comments. Are you sure you're not on anything??? lol!

I'm visualizing a rather elderly pixie that is slightly looped...
Got my laugh for today. Thanks
Sorry you have to work so hard.

Hi Robyn, as Merle said Dad had a saying for just about every situation, his response was different when I enquired about his we-being it was, "working hard and getting nothing".

Liz: Hi, sorry I didn't answer you earlier, I was distracted. I think you're right we are too nice, but if I try to be anything else, it comes back and bites me on the bum!

Michael: Yes, that's one thing my mother is good at, partaking very liberally. I guess that's why she's still going strong - well preserved!

MM: Slightly looped...what a lovely expression! I shall refer to mum as being that to see her reaction!

Peter: Bugger that! If I'm going to work hard I want something to show for it, don't you?
