Post Australia Day Post!

Grrrr...can't upload pictures - again! C'mon Blogger, get your act together! Just as well it's free...

Well, yesterday, post-Australia Day was a total wipeout for me. I've had quite a busy few weeks and I think it totally caught up with me. I slept most of the day and when I was awake, just read my book (an interesting story by Lisa See called "The Interior" and set in China). However, I must have needed the sleep, because today I feel fine!

I had a lovely surprise before when I was going through everyone's posts. On Pea's blog she has links leading to the Share the Love Blog Awards. I thought I would nominate someone and when I scrolled through the nominations had a lovely surprise. Someone has nominated my blog for the Humorous Blog Award. I was so thrilled that someone thought enough of my ruminations to nominate my blog. Thank you, whoever you are (although I have my suspicions).

Tonight is the men's finals of the Australian Open. Roger Federer versus Fernando "Speedy" Gonzales. Should be a great match. Didn't Serena Williams do well? As an unseeded player, she turned the women's competition upside down and thoroughly trounced Maria Sharapova in an hour! Onya, Serena!

Anyway, that's it for me today. Short post after the two long ones. Bye for now...

Robyn,
I'm glad to hear that you've recovered from your celebations.
I'm not surprised that you are up for that award...You have a gift with words and tell marvelous stories.

I don’t know what browser you’re using to upload pictures. I had that problem regularly until I switched from MS Explorer to Firebox. I’ve had no problem with uploads since. (I think, but don’t know, that Explorer “times out” before Google had uploaded the pics).

I’m glad you had a post-Australia Day snooze. Although I didn’t celebrate Australia Day here in Kentucky, I find a weekend snooze is always beneficial.

I am so happy that Serena won, especially since there were all of those know-it-alls who had said her tennis career was at an end.

the book sounds interesting...I might have to check into it...I've been doing a lot of reading lately!

Peter: I think it must be like the Oscars and Golden Globe. Nominations for them are up at this time of the year. Congratulations to you, too!

Rel: Thank you so much for your generous comment. That nomination was totally unexpected.

Nick: I've heard people mention Firefox, but I'm a little loath to change because the programme I use for my work at home would probably be affected. I downloaded some updates for IE once, couldn't access my work and ended up having to reinstall the programme. During the course of that, I lost a lot of autotexts I had stored, which was a real pain. SO I may just have to put up with it. But thank you for your advice anyway.

Tammy: Thank you. I'm enjoying the book. It's a murder mystery, with some sabotage, romance and so on. If you're into all that, you'd enjoy it :-)

Hmmmm now I wonder who could have nominated you????? hehe (whistles innocently) You shouldn't be surprised at all Robyn, your blog is such a delight to read and your sense of humour is absolutely wonderful!! Now I can't wait for the actual voting:-)

Glad you were able to sleep so much...that's the best way to recover from a rough week!! Now you'll be all bright eyed and bushy tailed for the upcoming week! lol

Ah hah! So you are the culprit, Carole. I might have known it.

Well, thank you very much for the compliment and I'm glad you enjoy reading my scribblings (well they would be if I was using pen and paper).

I hope you get an award, because your blog is full of news and interesting tidbits and judging by the comments, a lot of other bloggers feel the same way as I do.

Have a lovely week and I hope your cold is getting better.

Hugs and thank you, dear Carole.

I had problems trying to upload today, too, Robyn...must be 'going around'! I could upload a couple of pics but it refused to upload a couple more I wanted to show...never mind. I'll trick it some other time...I'll sneak up on it!

I also was exhausted over the weekend! I had a lengthy nap both Saturday afternoon and Sunday...it was all that tennis we were playing!

Hi Lee

I know what you mean about the tennis! Plus our partying on Australia Day thrown in for good measure. Gone are the days when I could party all night, come home, shower then go straight to work.

The mind's willing but the body's still tagging along behind...way behind!

Merle: Yes, I feel a lot better and more able to face the world now. I just don't seem to be able to recover from parties as quickly as I used to!
