Bloggers' Lunch

I was a little apprehensive about meeting Peter and Warren for the first time...understandable I guess. Let's face it...anyone can say anything and be anyone in Blogworld. However, I needn't have worried. Two nicer guys you couldn't meet. But I'll start at the beginning...

You will recall in my last post I mentioned having a red rose between my teeth and doing a flamenco for identification purposes. Well, I bought the rose (and what trouble I had finding one red silk rose!) with the intention of crossing the road to the coffee shop with it between my teeth. It had a very long stem, so this morning I hacked at it with the scissors to cut it down to a more manageable length...after all I didn't want to be responsible for poking someone's eye out...that wouldn't be a very auspicious start.

I grabbed my bag, keys, etc, drove out onto the road, tootling nicely along the Logan Motorway...with the rose still where I had left it after trimming the stem...back at home. Oh dear...

I had suggested the coffee shop across from the main entrance of Toowong Village...it would have been roughly the middle for me and Warren and Peter. I parked in the shopping village carpark, noting as I drove in that there was a four hour limit on parking...you've got to be joking. Oh well, I'll worry about that later. Walked through the shops to the main entrance...and I could see these two characters sitting at a table at the cafe across the road. Had to be Peter and Warren so, while I was waiting at the lights, I waved. Ahah! An answering wave...I was right.

What a great pair of guys...I had a lovely afternoon and we certainly didn't run out of things to talk about. There was a lot of witty repartee...between Warren and Peter, as well as the three of us, which made for lots of laughter as well. I got a couple of photos, unfortunately the sun was a bit of a handicap as was the fact that I didn't have my glasses on when I took these...ignore the woman in the background...who invited her?
Actually, even though I didn't have my glasses on, the photos aren't too bad. We wanted one of the three of us so I suggested asking one of the staff to take it. Warren went inside to do that, but came out and said there's only one staff member visible...nothing loath, he collared a young lady who was innocently waiting for coffee and she took a photo of the three of us on Peter's camera. He's very kindly emailed me a copy, but I'll wait for him to put it on his post...if he's going to post about our meeting...lol.

Thank you, Peter and Warren, for a lovely lunch and an entertaining few hours...it was lovely to meet you and let's do it again sometime.

Oops...Peter, what did you say to upset Warren? (Told you I'd got that, Warren...heheh!)

Hi Robyn, so glad you had a pleasant time, as did Wazza and I, it's always good to put a face to the folk we meet in cyberspace, look forward to next time.

Hi Robyn ~~ Glad you guys had a nice meeting and lunch and that the boys behaved themselves. Pity about the rose!! Good photos, and always with those two lots to laugh about.
Well done Robyn!! Take care, Love, Merle.

You might want to put your glasses on...that is a male in the background of one picture, not a female...teehee!
It is so nice that you got to meet the fellers!

Hi..I knew that you would have a great time. It is so much fun to meet other bloggers!! You just instantly know each other and the conversation is always great!! It is just like you have been friends for a long long time. I love doing this. I would like to see that picture of the three of you. Sandy

That's nice that you had such a great time with Blogger companions ! A pity that you forgot the rose, but you still could put a picture from you with the rose in your mouth here in the next post ! I would love to see that. I am sure if you have had done that people there would have thought about a "looking for serious partner" add and would have been scandalized to see two men !

How fantastic to meet up with other bloggers! I once - some time ago - tentatively suggested a Britmeet - and got absolutely no takers! Unless they all met up and didn't tell me about it ...

It sounds like you had a great time. I'll have to check out their blogs too.

Enjoy the school holidays.

Gidday Robyn,
It was great to meet you and you will note that I was fairly successful in keeping Peter in check as he can be quite a worry sometimes.
We laughed when you told us the "rose story" as that would of been a sight seeing you doing "the light fantastic" across the street.

I'm so glad it worked out well, your 'bloggers convention'! I have never met another blogger in person but one day I will be brave and do so.

Love the story about the rose left at home....what a shame, it would have been hilarious!

Hope you have a happy Monday!

He posted it. I was there before I came here.

It's always fun meeting my blogging buddies. I wish all of you weren't so far away.

To independence, it's true in the whole world there are still men who want women to be dependent, but unfortunately there are also a lot of women (I would rather call them females) who don't have an own opinion and do everything their husband wants. I always have been very suspicious about men and as soon as I realized that he wanted to decide everything I run away ! Mr. Gattino doesn't like to take decisions, so it works very well. Humor and friendship is good for a marriage.
