Here's an Uplifting Story of Hope

http://www.abc.net.au/tv/hardknocks/meet/default.htm

If you click on this link it will take you to meet the Choir of Hard Knocks. This musical sensation is taking Australia by storm with their singing.

Made up of alcoholics, drug addicts, the homeless and other disadvantaged people, Jonathon Welch has brought hope and dignity to those who had none and Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes has thrown himself fully behind the choir.

If you click on the above link, you can listen to the Choir's version of "Hallelujah". It's beautiful...you may need tissues.

Hi Robyn ~~ I saw this group on 60 Minutes tonight. They are good and some of their stories are horrific. I see Jimmy Barnes went to see them and admitted all his alcohol and prior
drug problems. You better watch out for Jane !!!! Never heard of static
electricity as strong as that.
Gla you like some of my photos. So you have a GD Gabrielle too age 15.
My GGD will be 4 this month. I got
your Qld e mail, thanks, no doubt written by a Queenslander !!
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

That was great.

To many people look at the homeless and see dirty beggers or drug addicts but many of them were something else before they where what they are now.
Some never had a chance to find themselves before they got lost.
I think it is great that they perform and they are fantastic.
There are many more out there in the world all the need it a chance,

Have a nice day

I saw 60 minutes last night, too. It's a wonderful, very touching story, isn't it?

Thanks for the links....I'm going to go listen to 'Hallelujah'....

Your comment on my post came just as I was listening to the Hallelujah and reading about the group. It is uplifting and I hope it helps the people. I hope, also, that this idea spreads around the world as it inspires others. Thank you for a great post.

I watched the series of the putting together of this choir when it was on the ABC a few weeks or so ago...it was excellent.

Darn. I couldn't get the link to load. It may be my internet - I'll check again tomorrow.

Which Hallelujah? The Chorus from the Messiah or Leonard Cohen's (which is totally different and rather sad).

Your latest kitty is a cutie.
