The Wedding Site

I've mentioned that my eldest daughter is getting married for the second time at the end of September. The wedding is to be held in their garden, which they've been working on for the last year now.

When they first moved onto this land, there was no garden, no patio, no gazebo and no lawn. It was bare, dusty and depressing looking. Unfortunately, I haven't got any before photos, which is a shame because the contrast from then to now is unbelievable.

This is where Toni will come from the car, through where the guests will be assembled and then to the gazebo where they will be married.

The gazebo taken from the lawn area shown in the previous photo.

Taken from the opposite side

The patio where the tables will be set for the reception and afterwards, cleared away for dancing.

The bar area, looking from inside the patio. Darryl built this and installed three ceiling fans, needed for the hot weather. Above the bar is a sign saying "Didjabringyagrogalong"...a common enough one seen in most men's bonding sites!

It's hard to see in the photos, but the patio area is enormous and will comfortably hold the tables to seat 55 guests. We've had some good gatherings here already...rehearsals for the wedding...grin.

It looks huge in your pictures and a great place to have a gathering.
It's amazing how a little work and imagination could make a wasteland into paradise

Have a nice day

That really looks beautiful and so big ! When I see big gardens or houses I always think about cleaning and gardening, I hate both, lol ! and Mr. Gattino is not better. That's why we only have bushes and grass, no flowers and twice a year a guy comes to cut it. The grass we manage it's just the size of a handkerchief.

That is ONE very BEAUTIFUL yard and well.......the whole area! Just gorgeous. I can see why they want to be married there!

I love it all, but the brick walkway to the gazebo is so artistic, it looks like a yard from Home and Garden magazine.

Robyn,
I'm sensing a big goodtime shin-dig on the horizon. ;-)
Looks like the kids have done a bang-up job of building and landscaping.

The garden is lovely - serene and inviting. It will be brilliant for a wedding setting, and reception on the patio.

I hope you'll be able to post a few wedding snaps when the time comes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comment!
Wow!! I wish I had a back yard like that it is awesome I love it. We have just started upgrading our yard the gazebo has just gone up, the old above ground pool as been emptied and is ready to be pulled down, but I know that there is no way we are going to come up with anything that looks as good as yours (Lack of imagination). Sorry I messed up my first comment!

my goodness I missed this post! I'm glad I found it. She has quite the eye for design, doesn't she? And he is handy with those tools. That's a good combination. A perfect combination, much needed in my life!!
