More Spring Photos

Another two of Fred's orchids. The yellow one is a little slipper orchid and the large stem with all the tiny white flowers has the most beautiful perfume. You can see three more stems coming into flower. It's going to be spectacular when all the flowers are out.

Haymanthus flowers. These are bulbs and the buds come through first followed by the leaves.

Another bromeliad.

Hippeastrum, otherwise known as October lilies. I'll get photos of them when they open, they have the most magnificent flowers and come in all colours.

I'm hiding my head in shame...my potted plants are in a very sorry mess at the moment. I kinda neglected them throughout winter as it always was a little too chilly to go out and water them! :((( I'm now in the process of trying to resurrect as many as I can...I'm also going to have to purchase replacements, this I know! Bad, bad me!!!!

Plants that show buds before leaves; orchids everywhere: it is so different. I really enjoy your photos.

The only thing I don;t have are orchids, oh no I have a cactus orchid, but see your makes me think I got to get at least one.

I have about 50 potted plants in the house now because winter is setting in and I have to haul them in.

Great pictures :)

I keep forgetting you're heading into spring now.

Lovely flowers.

Such wonderful flowers! Orchards always remind me of Nero Wolf, the fictional detective who grew orchards on the roof of this New York brownstone.

All beautiful flowers that I can't grow over here because of our short summer weather! Phooey! lol Some of my flowers were touched by the frost this morning and it figures that by this afternoon it's 20c!! xox

Beautiful flowers indeed ! I enjoy my holidays, so many things have changed. I even think it was another person who stayed here ! I was 24 when I saw the Garda lake for the first and 44 for the last time ! Imagine 20 years ! Age is here an advantage, I can go everywhere ALONE without a bunch of boys behind me !
