Hi all...no, I haven't dropped off the planet. My computer died last Friday when I logged on to do some work. Panic! After two hours of trying to even turn the thing on, I decided to unplug it and take to someone to see what was wrong.
I picked it up this afternoon and it only cost me $90. I was so relieved. I had nightmares of a virus, spyware or some other malicious nasty (even though I have all the protective software), a lightning strike or other expensive trauma. It was a software glitch...no virus and thankfully, no lightning strike, so I didn't have to buy a new computer. I was looking at my bank account and wondering how much I was going to have left...
Thank you to those who emailed me...I read your emails earlier. Unfortunately, I had no way of letting anyone know what was going on. I tried on a friend's computer and Google wanted me to jump through all sorts of hoops. As it wasn't my computer, I didn't feel right saying ok to stuff she may not have wanted access to.
Anyway, all's well...thank you all for your concern. I shall do a proper post in the next day or two.

Oh! It’s terrible when one’s computer dies! I’m glad it was able to be repaired, but sorry for what you paid to have the repairs made.
