Woohoo! I'm Back in Blogland!

There is so much to tell you, I don't know where to start! I guess Christmas is as good a start as any.

As you know, my daughter gave me a kitten (Mitzi) for Christmas. Well, she was so timid and shy I was a little concerned about her, because she wouldn't eat. That only lasted for 24 hours. She is eating me out of house and home, tears around the place like a maniac and of course, I am the favourite attack target. I now call her the Feline Terrorist with Cattitude! She has found that my bed is the best playground, especially when I'm in it, and it's also a good place to sleep. Although, she's not very good at judging distances. Taking a flying leap at my foot under the doona, she disappeared over the side of the bed! She has also fallen off the window sill, not realising how narrow it is when she tries to turn around. She loves the computer chair, but checked it out thoroughly first...she could still smell Oscar, but has decided that he's no threat...obviously.

All in all, she's a delightful little cat and I'm so glad I've got her. I'll put some photos up at the end of this post.

As for Christmas Day, all the family arrived and only one grandson was missing, however he rang from Holland and made my day. I got thoroughly spoilt with all the lovely gifts from my family. We had a yummy lunch with pink champagne and lots of food.

New Year I thought would be quiet, but I hadn't bargained on my neighbours. As usual, most members of the Wine O'Clock Club rocked up (Steve and Allie were away) and we ate, talked and toasted each other's health at midnight. Great fun.

Since then, being computerless, I've read lots of books and done heaps of cryptic crosswords; went shopping with my granddaughter, had nana naps and generally behaved like a sloth (except I didn't eat ants or hang upside down from a tree).

We've had lots and lots of lovely rain, in fact last weekend, I couldn't get to my daughters' houses as the highway was cut due to the river breaking its banks and creating a rather large puddle, effectively stopping us going any further. However, that only lasted 24 hours. Our place is on a hill so we have no worries about being flooded.

Um...I can't think of anything more at this moment, but no doubt I will over the next few days. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families and that 2008 brings you lots of love and happiness.

What a cute Christmas gift

Aren't I just gorgeous?

I can imagine that you missed blogging ! I could never stay such a long time away from blogging ! I think I would get mad, lol ! I would have stormed all Internet Cafés, friends and neighbors to get on a computer ! Mitzi is really a very cute cat ! Your daughter did a nice choice she has such a lovely little face. And she is a girl ! they are not so "stray" as boys. She will certainly learn to estimate distances, Rosie was and is very very careful in everything even for going out. She never stays alone outside always needs Arthur or Kim. I hope you will take lots of pictures of her ! I am so glad that you have a cat again. Without cat life is boring !
So you had a nice Christmas and New Year, we too. It was very nice in Amsterdam. (Anyway everything is on my blogs) Rosie's newes thing is, she collects her mice toys during the night and puts them around the food bowls where I can admire them in the morning. I have asked the others but apparently she is the only cat who does it ! I also discovered that she is very intelligent.

Well let me be the first to welcome you back to Blogland. You have been sorely missed.

Mitzi is the cutest little thing isn't she? I'm more of a dog person but I think my heart could be melted by that little imp.

Love your new look (blog) too. Happy New Year and glad you had such a great Christmas.

PS Could you send some of that rain down here. We're as dry as a bone and as hot as Hades :(

Mitzi is adorable! :) She sounds like a typical kitten. :) Merlin is the same way - tearing through the house like a maniac! :)

It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. All the best to you and your family in 2008.

Welcome back :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New year, lets get it all out of the way.

Sounds like you didn't need blogging, you were plenty busy enough with the holidays and I bet it was relaxing.

That's a cute kitten and they grow on you quickly especially when they are attached to your leg.

She's just getting lovelier and lovelier. I've been reading books lately, too. I missed it more than I had realized. Have read three so far. Written reviews of them, too! That's when life is good: a good book, warmth and a cat.
