More Ebay Buying

Thank you so much those of you who left all those lovely comments on my last post. I will get around to visiting after this...

I received a lovely treat from Anni over at Hootin Anni's today. Here it is, thank you so much,
Anni.
Go and visit Anni. She is a very creative lady with a most interesting blog. Her post today for Thursday 13 is thirteen things about the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. But she also has the most wonderful Halloween decorations...all sorts of lovely spooky things that will fire your imagination.
As the title of this post says, I've been buying more stuff on Ebay. One of the things I bought was a pair of Egyptian cotton sheets. Now, to me...philistine that I am...cotton is cotton, no matter where in the world it comes from. Not so, according to what I found on the internet. Egyptian cotton is known for its fineness and long fibres.
Interesting, I thought, but...it's still cotton. However, after I'd washed all the dressing out of my sheets, I put them on the bed. Ohhhh, they are so lovely to sleep in. Soft and totally luxurious, I didn't realise the difference in cotton and Egyptian cotton. I do now, though and I don't think I'll be buying anything else. These sheets are just beautiful to sleep in.
Today my crocheted pillow slips arrived along with the lacy tablecloth and they are lovely. I'm also waiting for a huge crocheted tablecloth that can double as a queen sized bedspread. When I've got all this I will make up my bed and put some photos on.
The timber and wrought iron bedside lamps finish tomorrow...I really want those, so fingers crossed. I also have my eye on an unusual wrought iron candalabra...it would be nice for Christmas.
So, that's what I've been doing over the last few days...spending money faster than I'm making it at the moment. I really think I'd better buckle down and do some work...but, gee whiz, I'm having fun!

Wow, wow ! what a luxury only the pea is missing ! That's a royal treatment to yourself ! you will sleep like a baby.
My experience with "Egyptian" bedsheets are more down to earth, in the hotels in Egypt they are just the same as everywhere, I even had once a bedsheet, so thin and "delicate" that you saw the matress pattern !

I have always wondered about Egyptian cotton and now I know. Personally I love the good old flannelette sheets as I snuggle into them on a cold winters night but then I have always had simple tastes and needs and my husband thanks God daily.

G'Day Robyn ~~ Your sheets sound very nice and comfortable. You have been busy getting your house how you like it.I am
glad that you liked the Beautiful story. Amazing reunion for the old couple. It warmed up today some and we expect 28C on Sunday. It was just a brief return to winter, but we survived, no heater on.
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle, Hugs.

Oh yes....nothing like fresh bedding. I bet was so wonderful....like you say, 'luxurious'!!! Indeed.

I can't wait to see the crocheted tablecloth used as a bedspread. Do stop back and tell me when you receive that, okay? I'm so very curious now, and maybe I will do the same. How awesome is that?!!!!

Every now and again I look on ebay for a nice unusual wrought iron headboard. the trouble is they're always 'buyer collect' and they're in Scotland or somewhere!
