Stop the World, I Wanna Get Off!

Life has been frantic the last few days. Because I'll be away for almost two weeks, my work has increased accordingly. I find this always happens. People want to get their stuff out before I go away...of course, by the time I'm ready to go on holiday, I'm totally exhausted. It happens every time and this time, I'm really to pull the plug...permanently.

Semi retirement? I'm kidding, aren't I...this morning I was so cranky about the whole thing. However, I've returned to my usual sunny nature (hah!) and can now face the world with reasonable equinamity...until the whole circus starts again tomorrow.

On top of all this, I had Bella The Destroyer go behind my computer desk and pull plugs out...wondered why I had no sound and it took me 20 minutes to figure out what she had done. I swear I'll swing for that cat...

However, doing a rethink on pulling the plug on working...it's not a good idea at the moment as my few small investments are now hardly worth the paper they're written on. As long as the share market recovers sometime before I shuffle off my mortal coil, I'll be happy. However, as it doesn't look like doing that any time soon...back to the keyboard (sigh).

Hahaha ! I can see you while looking what happened to your computer !! What a nice cat ! So far my cats are not (yet) interested in cables ! I too suddenly have to do a lot of things to do before I leave and it makes me nervous, I think that is called the "travel fiever" although I do my suitcases only one day before I leave ! (my friend needs a month for that !) I am going on Nov 15 to Egypt again, the only place not too far away (3 1/2 h) where I can find summer weather ! I stay with my girlfriend for 2 weeks and that will take us then through the winter !

That all very well, but does Bella steal food from the fridge when you are getting dinner and then get sidetracked? Floyd does!

Aer you excited about your trip? I would be. Then again, I get excited about grocery shopping (big sigh). Not long now!

Hi Robyn.I think I would rather do the extra work before I went on holidays rather than a mountian when you get home,,
Have a great time..

Dear Robyn ~~ Sorry you have felt a bit overwhelmed, but holidays are coming.
When do you leave for New Zealand?
The elephant story had an unusual ending.
I wonder if it was true?
Take great care, my friend. Love, Merle.

Is Bella now into computer repair? This far in his young life, Alex has destroyed two laptops for me. You gotta watch those armature computer repair creatures!

That is soooo typical! Happens to me very often too - and it was the same for my sister before she went to Venice recently. It's so weird. Why can't one be relaxed and fine before going away?

Even if it's not work, there always does seem to be so much to do before going on a holiday. You need to think ahead and organise to do things you will be away for, not to mention getting all the extra things you need for the trip. Sheesh! It will be soooo worth it though. How long to go now?

I stopped the world once.
My face smacked the world.
The idea is for you to slow down and pretend you didn't see it go by ;)

Just before a trip or a big event everything you need to do seems to triple.
I hope you get some rest before you go on your vacation.

Glad you've decided not to drop out after all then - I know I love to read your reports from down under :-)

Happy Holiday!

You know we all want the world to stop once in a while so that we can "get off" but of course that never happens...well until we die I guess!! You are going on vacation so you should be looking forward to that now..Have fun..when do you leave?
