May be One or Two Showers

Mainly fine, they said. May be one or two showers, they said. So I washed my sheets. Within five minutes, the first shower arrived. Okay, I thought, not a problem. There's a bit of a breeze and the sheets will soon dry. Half-an-hour later the second shower, heavier than the first. Then another and another until I took the sheets off the line and threw them in the dryer.

Then we had this...

The downpipes couldn't cope,

the patio was flooded and

it poured. If this was one or two showers, what on earth would a deluge be? (click on the first and second photos to enlarge and you can see the driving rain).

Oh dear. My 'hang it out anyway' theory has failed miserably! But isn't it wonderful to get a bit of rain?!

Happy Australia Day Robyn :-)

G'day Robyn ~~ How I wish we could get one or two showers here. We are looking at a week of 40 C and over.
It sure was a downpour all right. Freshens things up though. Thanks for your comments about my post for Australia Day. Typically Aussie as you say. Take care, my friend,
Love, Merle.

I am so envious of your rain Robyn. It's been months since we've seen any and everywhere is so brown and dusty. Very depressing.
