Giggles in the Supermarket

I had to do my shopping today (the fridge looked decidedly empty) so I was in the pet food aisle doing Mitzi and Bellas food run first. I picked up their litter, picked up a packet of liver treats for them and then went on and grabbed their canned and dry food. I noticed a woman pushing a stroller coming toward me with her little boy, aged about three, just ahead of her.

I saw him looking through a toy telescope at the shelves just where I was and I heard him say something to me.

"Pardon?", I queried.

"Could you please move out of the way? My mum's just there."

"Oh, ok, "I said. "I'm just leaving," and I smiled and looked towards his mother. She was obviously embarrassed and refused to look at me and reproved her little boy.

I thought it was a shame she was embarrassed because I thought the whole incident was really funny and I continued on my way giggling to myself. That little kid actually made my day. And at least he was polite and said please, rather than coming out with a stream of four letter words which might have been the case with a lot of littlies nowadays.

You keep going, kid. Your manners were beautiful.

Kids!!!! They're awesome aren't they? Well, the polite ones anyway.

You and me both...our cats come first when we do a grocery errand. LOL

The mother must be a frustrated woman, that's so sweet what the little boy said.
I have always a lot of fun with Ginda (the 4 year old granddaughter of my friend who passed away) sometimes I keep her to allow her Daddy some free time. The mother only remembers once in a while that she has a daughter, she has a new boyfriend !

haha kids these days, you gotta love 'em. At least he was polite, hope he carries that with him as he gets older. Nermal is wondering what liver treats are and why I don't buy him any :) purrs and head butts from Nermal and me!

Loved your response. Too many of us miss the joy that children can bring us. Too bad the mom didn't realize what the likely outcome of her response.

I wonder how she would have reacted if the kid had come out with a string of *&&%&$$, etc.? snerx.

Awwww bless his little heart! lol As you say, at least he was polite about it:-) Kids don't seem to have manners these days so it's nice to know that some still do! Funny you should mention grocery shopping and buying cat food because that's where I've just come back from...had no cat food left. xoxo

Dear Robyn ~~ Nice little boy, wonder how he learnt good manners as
his Mum didn't seem the type.
I hope that you are feelng much better now they found the salt deficiency. Thanka for leaving a comment. You are lucky your brother is only 1 1/2 hours away from you. Mine is about 20 hours away when he is home and quite a lot while he is in Adelaide. I am feeling a lot better because I increased the pain tabs, as Doctor
said he would put me on a very low dose, which did nothing until I doubled it, and checked with him
today. Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

He does sound very polite. And confident. He could go far, charming the ladies like that!

That reminds me of the time my little one told the checker guy "Oowww! LOOK MOM! HE HAS CHICKEN POX"!!
The poor fella looked like he had a bad case of the "growing up pimples"...all I could say was "hush baby girl"!!
Uugh!

Yep, kids are wonderful that way, they can say the most "wonderful" things and there, you have the giggle of the day without they even know that they were funny :-)
