Belated Merry Christmas to You All.

I know...I've been very remiss...I haven't posted for a couple of weeks.  But you know how it's been...totally insane.  It's not called the Silly Season for nothing.

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and for those in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope your Christmas day is just as wonderful.

We had Christmas breakfast at my daughter's place.  Oh, there was so much to do justice to...and I just couldn't.  My youngest daughter, Suzie, had made cinnamon scrolls which were to die for, plus the most sinful looking pie I've ever seen.  Meringue, choc mint covered with whipped cream and crushed mint candy cane...unfortunately I never got to try it...too full.  There was also a divine spinach frittata which Toni had made...that vanished, it was so tasty.  Also there were croissants and ham and I had hollowed out a watermelon and filled it with diced fruit.  Do you know how long it takes to hollow out a watermelon???  Ages...trust me!  I had juice all over me and the floor by the time I'd finished.  Anyway, the end result looked good and that was the main thing.  However, I now have enough left over tropical fruit salad for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next four days, plus there's the left over fruit I didn't use...two punnets of strawberries, a tray of mangoes plus 1 kg of grapes.  I think Jane, Fred and Co will be helping out there.
Last night I had Christmas dinner with them and a couple of others.  It was very quiet...for which we were all thankful.  Everyone was looking rather weary by that stage.  We ate on the patio...it was too hot to eat inside, but a couple of showers did help to cool things down a little.
So that was Christmas Day...I won't talk about the day or two beforehand...let's just say that some people have never heard of goodwill to men...

Below are some photos I've posted of my day.  Double click to enlarge and have a look at the goodies on the table.

Above:  No, it's not fog but some much needed rain a couple of days ago.

Suzie getting herself a glass of fruit punch, with Cooper and his daddy looking on.

Stacey hamming for the camera, with Darryl's mum, Joan, in the background.

Gabbie, giving a Christmas thumbs up with her cousin, Anthony, next to her.

Cooper discovering what Santa has left him.  Hasn't he grown...he's now three and a half.

Even Georgy Girl, the cockatoo, got in on the act.

Merry Christmas! It looks like your holiday gathering was fun! The palm trees and the short sleeves stir my imagination. Where I live we have over five inches of snow on the ground.

Thanks for the Christmas message... that looks like a lovely day you had there... what a trotterdonkey cockatoo!...

And while I'm here (because I'll surely forget otherwise!) I'll wish you NOW a very happy 2010

(the first year of the new century we can say "twenty" in front of without sounding pretentious~~haha!)

Glad to know that your Christmas was so special. There is nothing like being with your loving family and friends.

We are having a great time in Portland with our youngest daughter and her husband. On Tuesday we will fly down to LA to spend New Years with our oldest daughter, her husband and young son. It will be Eli's first Christmas/Hannukah. We plan to attend the Rose Parade in Pasadena. You can be there will be photos to post on my blog.

Our best to you all. Enjoy the warmth. It is rather cool here, and there is snow back in Lansing.

Wow, that all looks very yummy what is on your table ! Nice family photos ! I also like your new profile photo, you changed your hair color that looks very nice.
I am back from a white Christmas which turned into rain now. But it was really very nice. I knew the dutch parents a bit better and we had a great time together.

First of all; thanks for your visit and Xmas greetings! Yea, this is a big contrast to our White Xmas in Oslo, Norway.
But also remember that means that we'll have a nice summertime when you come to meet up at The Oslo Blog Gathering in August!

Lovely party and pics - reminds me when I was in Perth and we had fish&ships on a beach the first Xmas day - so exotic for a Norwegian you know :-)

Your food list is making me hungry, and watermelon also, my favorite finger food. Sounds like you had a fun time, we had freezing rain for two days, but today we had a snow storm. Enjoyed all your pictures, I always like to see family get togethers. Have a Happy New Year. Cooper sure has grown and so cute, love that bird, very pretty.
