Don't Pass Out With Shock

Two posts in two days...goodness me.

Actually I just have to write about the most beautiful book I think I have ever read.  It's called "Zamba - The True Story of the Greatest Lion That Ever Lived" by Ralph Helfer.

It tells of how the author had an affinity and love of lions from a very young age.  He grew up to be a great believer in what he calls "affection training", training wild animals through love and respect rather than fear and cruelty.  He was given an orphaned lion cub and so began the story of his amazing relationship with this magnificant animal.

I love lions and as I read the book, I laughed and cried...at the end I sobbed.  It's a beautifully written story with some photos.  But the pictures don't do justice to the words.   If you want a really good read or a great Christmas present for an animal lover, get this book.  I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

Hey Robyn! Sounds like a good read, except for the crying part... I love lions too, Nermal kinda looks like one.

I am also fascinated with lions. My husbandry asked me if I wanted to take a trip to Kenya since he lived there like for 2 years during his parents' missionary work. He told me about the wildlife and of course the lions.

I love the MGM lion. It looks like it's having an itchy moment and isn't allowed out of frame to scratch!!

Hello dear Robyn:-)

Finally finding time to visit, these last few weeks have been crazy with all the Christmas preparations. That book sounds like it would be a good read...reminds me of Born Free with Elsa the lion.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and may all your dreams come true during this magical season! xoxo
