Chit Chat

Oscar partaking in one of his favourite pastimes - eating. The other one is sleeping.

Well, to all of you who have asked me about Flossy (Suzie). Ok, the latest update is that she is still not smoking. I have asked her when she is coming back on line. She will be here eventually, but when her computer went down and she couldn't use it, she discovered other things that she hasn't done for a while, so she's doing them for a bit and thoroughly enjoying it. However, she will be back sooner or later... I have passed on all your messages and comments, so she knows you are thinking of her.

It's a good week this week. I only had one day of work in the city, as it's a public holiday today. I still get paid for two days though. I could get used to that - working one day and getting paid for two! I did some work from home this morning. All was going well until I came across one sound file over 30 minutes in length. My heart sank, but it was actually very interesting. A psychiatrist who uses the transcription service is doing a paper on "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" and I found it most intriguing. Now I can put a name to what my problem is! lmbo!! Or putting it totally another way - my narcissus has problems! (Groan). Yeah, yeah. Righto, I'll shut up...

I have decided I may go and visit my brother on the Sunshine Coast when my car needs washing. They don't have water restrictions up there and I would be able to use the hose! As it's a 90 minute trip one way, I would just have to stay the night. Because I would need to do that, I had better buy a couple of bottles of wine. But then we could go out for dinner as well...hmmm, sounds like a really good thought to me. See, you can justify anything if you try hard enough...

Actually, I should change the title on this post to "Waffling On" because it appears that's what I'm doing. Ok, that's it for today. I'm going to heat up a piece of zucchini slice (recipe below) for lunch.

ZUCCHINI SLICE

3 cups of grated zucchini (4-5 medium sized)
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 rashers bacon
1 cup grated cheese
1 cup self raising flour
1/2 teaspoon each of oregano, rosemary and basil
Chopped fresh parsley
Pepper
1 stock cube
5 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste

Combine zucchini, onion, bacon, cheese, flour, seasonings and crumbled stock cube into a large bowl.
Lightly beat eggs, add milk and tomato paste until just combined.
Fold through zucchini mixture and poor into a lightly greased pan. Bake at 180C for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the centre comes out cleanly.
Allow to stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Maybe frozen and can be served cold.

Just bring the car over here lol, we are lucky we put in a bore this time last year, was hoping for oil but water is just as god lol. It drives me nuts that so much of our water goes off to the Gold coast and they had no restrictions for long enough, arghh. Anyway hope we get some decent rain here soon, for atleast a week. am filing up the water tank as i speak, always when I am in the shower we find out the water is out , good old luck of the Irish lol
take care for now am off on Sun to the uk so will be posting fom Sis home lol, may have to fight her for the computer lmbo

Hi Robyn ~~I hope your friend can stay off the smokes. I smoked for about 40 years, but gave up 10 years
ago. The zucchini slice sounds delicious and is similar to one I make
I love it with salad in summer for tea. I Winter it's soup and toast for tea, as I like my main meal in the
middle of the day. Glad you liked the teapot etc. Thanks for your kind words
Take care, Hugs, Merle.

I wanna be a cat in my next life...sleeping and eating...sounds good to me!! lol Glad to hear that Flossy is doing well, she really has been missed. When I was a secretary for the City Hall yearssss ago, I remember having to transcribe from tapes and some of them were actually interesting!! If you do decide to go visit your brother, have fun:-)

Hi Robyn ~~ Thanks for your comments,
glad you enjoyed the jokes. I had one of the roast chicken and vegetable meals today and it tasted great. I gave away 6 dinners to my son and friends. But I have another two for me. Take care, Hugs, Merle.

I was puzzling over the recipe. Do you cook the bacon and then add it crumbled to the mix?

Sounds great.

Mmmm, Zucchini Slice, so nice. I make mine slightly different ... using spring onions (shallots) instead of normal onion, and adding a grated carrot or two as well. Yummy.
Hope you have had a great week, and that your weekend is wonderful.
Take care, Meow
