Yep, and I got away early...heheh! Because I cleaned up the work in record time, I actually only did the equivalent of two days' work in the city this week. If things had gone as I thought, today would have been my first day at home...but, I finished early on Tuesday, early on Wednesday and that was it!
It was so lovely going to bed on Wednesday night, knowing I didn't need to set the alarm to get up and get ready for the hour plus trip into the city. I slept in...yep! Didn't get up until quarter to six. If you think that's early, when I work in the city I get up at quarter to five, leave home at six and get to work by approximately 7.15 (depending how timely the train is getting into Central).
I'm a morning person and do my best work before lunchtime, that's why I like to start early. It's a throw back to when we lived on the farm 35 years ago. I was used to getting up to get the cows in for milking and I've never got out of the habit of rising early. It's wonderful in summer because in midsummer, it's daylight at 4 am, so I don't miss out on any of the day. It's also lovely and peaceful at that time of the day (if you discount the cockatoos and kookaburras, noisy critters that they are) and I feel as if I'm the only person in the world.
We had a drama on Monday evening involving Oscar, but I'll let him tell you in his post on Tuesday. He can do it so much better, with all the dramatics so necessary to him.
Thank you for not forgetting about me. I actually felt quite cut off from you all. Now, isn't that strange...I was actually working with tangible people and felt cut off from people I've never even met, yet who I feel really close to. I think a psychiatrist could have a wonderful time with that! I'm also going visiting on Sunday. I haven't seen Cooper for a whole month...he'll be forgetting what I look like, and I haven't seen my daughters and my other grandchildren for the same amount of time. I feel anything could have happened and I would have been totally oblivious to it.
I cannot wait for the time when I stop my two days in the city. It was going to be next year, but I think once I've paid off my car in a few months' time, I may call it quits then. Conversely, I may have changed my mind again by then, too! Oh, I think I'll wait and see what happens and how I feel about it then.
Hope this finds you all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Hugs to you all...

Congratulations on finishing your work early, welcome back to sanity.
Thank you, Peter, sanity's right! Now I know why I gave up working full time a few years ago.
Since two years I also love early mornings before that I was an unbearable person before noon ! Now I enjoy it very much, get up around 4 (Mr. Gattino gave it up to tell me that I am crazy) and it's true what you said it's especially nice in summer. But also in winter, I get up get me a cup of coffee and off to the computer ! Since I am blogging my life changed completely, I even wonder what I did before ! It was very hard for me to get used to retirement. If you didn't have such a long way to go to work, I would keep to days, but in your case it's almost an expedition !
Curious to know what Oscar has to tell ! BTW the dog for Photo Pherrets is a Bernese Mountain Dog and the bravest dog in the world ! He is absolutely adorable !
Looking forward to Oscar's story.
I tried to comment earlier but something was going amiss but it's rectified itself now.
Now is the time to sit back and enjoy a wine or three, Robyn...you've got the weekend ahead of you...so sit back and contemplate your navel! ;)
Gattina: Yes in the winter I get up early too, make a coffee and do some work from home. I find it very hard to sleep in nowadays. But I'm scared I might miss out on something if I sleep too long!
Ann: Oh yes, the boy's got a story this week. He'll be talking about it for ages.
Lee: Yep, got my wine already! Just had a look at Cyclone Watch. It's a category one and on the four day forecast, could move further down the coast towards us. It's around Cardwell/Bowen/St Lawrence at the moment, but still way out in the Coral Sea. Here's hoping...we can certainly do with the rain depression it'll bring!
Robyn,
Good deal that you were able to get the job done early.
I'm a morning person also, it's when any creativity I may have surfaces. Like you I want to capture every second of the light. Happy visiting this weekend.

Hi Rel, good to see you and thank you, I'm really looking forward to seeing my family on Sunday. You have a great weekend. Cheers!
Hi , I am a night owl!! I retired from nursing , after 28 years. It has taken me 3 years to adjust to sleeping at night.Come over to see me. Barb
I'm a morning person too...I've never needed an alarm clock, I always automatically wake up around 6 a.m. Mornings are when I do my best thinking, cleaning, etc...by afternoon I'm wilting. lol Glad to hear you've finished that job!! Great that you'll be going to visit your daughters on Sunday too!! xox
