I Got a Pressie!

Fred came over earlier waving something in his hand. It was this...

with these inside.

The Blog CD...the result of a lot of hard work by Connie (Meow) who asked us what songs we liked then put them together on this CD and...

this so cute card with a lovely message inside.

Thank you so much, dear Connie, this is a thoughtful, and will be a very treasured, gift. My daugher and son-in-law to-be are taking me to Nick and Mayo's farewell tomorrow and I'll put it in the car CD player so we can all listen to it on the way.

Update on Ken...

He has a black eye, blocked sinuses and a very bad headache, the results of his injuries. He broke his nose, has two cracks in the bone underneath the eye and a skull fracture. However, today he sat up and ate his lunch and grizzled about the physiotherapist...that's a sure sign of recovery!

I've really missed Ken because after I've finished my work for the morning, I'll often amble over and have a cup of coffee and a chat with Ken...but I can't do that now...he's not there! However, he's in the best place and will be home soon.

Vanity, thy name is...

My eldest daughter (the one who gets married next month) rang me today for a chat, but she had me in fits of laughter. By the way...guys, you may want to go and make a cup of coffee or get a stubby or something, I don't think you'll be really interested in this. Read on at your own risk...

We, my daughters and I, along with thousands of other women throughout the place, get our legs waxed. We're saving water... So, my daughter was telling me about where she goes and how nice the women are who work there. She said she had her armpits waxed the other day and that it didn't hurt half as much as getting her legs waxed or having a Brazilian. Then she said that the women there, when they waxed her armpits, said..."Oh, look at all that lovely hair," then.....rrriiiiiipp! I laughed so much, tears poured down my cheeks...I mean what a strange thing to say, just before they wax off that "lovely hair" out. Ah, the things we do...

As I mentioned above, it's Nick and Mayo's engagement and farewell party tomorrow. It was going to be held at Wyvenhoe Dam...there's a lovely picnic area there, even if there is no water. However, he's decided to have it at his father's place, which is out in deepest darkest Woop-Woop...a place called Lowood. I haven't a clue how to get there so tried to look it up in the streed directory. Unfortunately the maps don't go that far. That's why my daughter rang me earlier, to say they'd pick me up. So that's a relief...I don't have to find my own way. I shall take the camera and get some photos and if they're any good, post some over the weekend and tell you how it went.

That's it for now...enjoy your weekend.

Deepest darkest woop woop indeed, Lowood is quite close to rosewood where we had the service station years ago, not as far as Wivenhoe dam would be.

Boy! It's a long time since I've been to Lowood. We used to go out there years ago to watch motor racing. The track would be long gone by now, I imagine!

Have a great weekend, Robyn. :)

Hi Robyn ~~ Glad to hear that ken is on the mend - he had a nasty fall.
We all love the CD from Connie - it's
so good and was very good of her to do for so many of us. Thanks for your comments and it seems lots of folks have ganglions. My nose looks worse, so I hope that's good. Glad you liked the story about Dad and Uncle Fred. Take care, have lots of fun, Love, Merle.

He fractured his skull! Wow. The poor guy! It sounds like he's doing OK tho, I hope he gets home real quick. And the flu is disappearing I assume.

I'll tell you a secret: one of my girls is going to have electrolysis (I am SO glad spelling is on the contextual menu nowadays!) on all of both of her legs! $1,000 US. Unbelievable if you ask me. But she says the price of razors and cream is way more than that over a lifetime. Her brother and sisters think she is doing a wise thing!!!

She says I cannot have it done because I am considered a blonde (even tho I am a blue-eyed redhead), and it won't work. Sheesh.

Meow is so cool to have done that! Sounds like you have many irons in the fire!!!
