Green Christmas

Meeyauw tagged me to do this one...because she wants to know about Christmas in Australia, so here goes:

What is your favorite Christmas gift?

I love homemade gifts and my youngest daughter has made me some beautiful gifts. I love them because she has really put effort and thought into these, knowing what my likes and preferences are. It's easy to buy someone something and it's lovely to get any gift, but ones made for me are very special.

The year my brother and I surprised my mum. Her birthday is 10 days before Christmas. She knew I was coming for Christmas, but my brother and I cooked up a surprise for her for her birthday. We both arrived...she had no idea my brother was coming or that either of us would be there for her birthday. I had to do some very inventive lying and evasion about my flight arrival.

Depending upon where you live do you have a hot or cold Christmas?

Definitely hot with the obligatory afternoon thunder storm.

Would you prefer to try the opposite weather at least just once?

Oh yes, even though I hate the cold weather, I'd love to experience a white Christmas. Snow at Christmas time...how funny.

What do you prefer in a tree? Fake or real?

I have fake in the interests of conservation but I just love a real pine tree. The pine scent when the sun warms the room takes me right back to my childhood and Christmas then.

What is your favorite carol?

O Holy Night.

What is your favorite Christmas dinner?

Garlic prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, crab and lots of salads. Followed by fresh tropical fruit...mango, pineapple, papaya, canteloupe, etc. And not forgetting the strawberry daiquiris.

Do you wear a Santa hat at Christmas?

Not necessarily a hat, but decorative reindeer horns, with tinsel and glitter.

Have you ever seen Santa delivering gifts?

Of course! And I have the empty wine bottle to prove it.

Now, I'm not going to tag anyone, but you are most welcome to let us know about your Christmas.

Wow. I don't even know what those things are that you eat for Christmas dinner! BUGS? Remind me never to go to Australia for Christmas!! You are always welcome here. It's strange that you can't imagine a Christmas with snow. So so strange! LOL
