A Quick Catch Up

Sorry to be so slack this week, guys. I've been running around like the proverbial headless chook and the days have just got away on me. Now, what have I been doing...

Oh, yes. We had a Wine O'Clock meeting last weekend for our Lotto syndicate. We didn't become millionaires, but we had a good time anyway. Of course, not all members were able to make it. One or two were working (hospitality workers, you know. They work while the rest of us are partying). Talking of parties...actually, I'll go on to that later...and others had prior commitments. That's all right...we made up for those missing and drank to their health.

Then on Sunday I took a granddaughter to trial for the Regional Academy for netball. The competition was really stiff and unfortunately she didn't get in. However, being a philosophical sort of girl, although disappointed, she took the attitude that life goes on and there's always next year, anyway. Pretty mature attitude for a nearly 15-year-old.

On the Monday, I went to see Toni, my eldest daughter and her daughter was also visiting. So we had a lovely afternoon together.

The rest of the week, I was working from home and running around doing errands and that sort of thing. Then last night, Friday, I took two granddaughters to the city. One was graduating from her modelling course and so her cousin and I went to give her support and get some photos, which, unfortunately didn't turn out as well as I hoped. However, I saw the professional photos she had done and they are beautiful. Her mother has ordered the whole set and there was one that was my favourite. I ordered two, one for my collection and the other I will frame and send to my mum for Mother's Day.

So that's my week. This coming Monday I'm going to the ophthalmologist to have my cataracts checked. I think I'm gonna need new lenses in my glasses...

Cheers from the Wine O'Clock Club. Except that Roger, 2nd from left, is holding up a sauce bottle for some unexplained reason...

Hooks was singularly unimpressed with the proceedings.

PS: Arrangements for the party are steaming ahead and going well. I've been successful in my explanation to Jane and all is quiet there...thank goodness. It's next Saturday and I'll tell you all about it, with incriminating photos, of course...heheh.

You are lucky to be able to run around with granddaughters ! I still have none. It's in work ... lol !
I hope poor Jane will survive your so nicely planned surprise party !
Mr. Gattino has his birthday on the 12th, but we will celebrate on the 4th because our son is busy on easter. This time he wished to go out to the Japonese Restaurant. I am very happy about this choice !

Robyn,
Busy is good. Busy and wine is better, busy with wine and grand daughters is the best!

Whew! What a busy week you've had. Sounds like you had a blast though, especially when you get to wine around. Cheers and good luck to the grand-daughters and here's to winning the next lotto!

Actually, the busy life of doing nothing is best in my opinion. And with that concept...it reads here like your busy week was loaded with fun. Toasting with the sauce or not...cheers! I say

It sounds as though your week was a great one. Nothing better than to share wine with good friends. Spending time with young people is guaranteed to keep you young.

I can hardly wait to hear about next Saturday's party. The photos will be spectacular I am sure.

Make it a great week.

We at CatSynth like this "wine o clock" concept.

We can also sympathize with being busy, so much going on we can barely keep up with our routine posts, like "cats on tuesday."

A "wine o'clock meeting" : like that.

I have bad news though: poor Baby Itchy died last night! :-<...

Wine O'Clock Club...leave it to you to belong to that club! hehe Love it! Sounds like you've been very busy and don't apologize for not being able to blog or visit much, sometimes our lives don't leave us room for much computer time!! Some weeks I can visit everyone almost every day and other weeks I have time to make a post and that's it!

I just caught up with your last couple of posts...planning a surprise birthday party for someone can certainly have its moments! lol Fingers crossed that everything works out and I look forward to seeing photos once the event is over. Then you'll be able to give her heck for all the trouble she gave you! lol xoxo

Almost forgot...I've been blogging for a long time and have YET to figure out how in the world you can put descriptions of pictures UNDER the picture.(if that makes sense)lol
Everytime I try to post a pic,the description winds up everywhere BUT under each picture.
UuGH! Just curious.
Any help figuring out what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.
Love your blog,btw!
